Bangladeshi ICT Market is Encouraging to Invest

We have passed years after Bangladesh identified ICT as a tool to change the country to change the economy. Because the country found significantly potential for quick wins in reforms, job creation, industry growth, improving governance and facilitating inclusion, and it has high spillover effects to other sectors. Today, in Bangladesh, the overall IT sector (excluding telecoms) is not such small, valued at $300 million, with IT/ITES claiming 39% ($117 million) of that value. The overall IT/ITES industry has enjoyed a high growth rate of 40% over the last five (5) years and this trend is expected to continue.
Infrastructural reformation ICT related laws and policies have been passed in last couple of years that are essential to regulate this sector. IT Park-typeactivity has defined and manage space within which the larger issues of infrastructure, policy and image has been addressing for its growth.The authority has been formed to trained the local youths in ICT, so that they may grow. Computer education has become compulsory in high school and the institution are adopting ICT for digital education. The Access in information has been increased as tele-density and internet density have increased to 64.6% and 19.9%, respectively .
Hardware A recent study indicates that the PC growth rate in our country is around 44%. The product From desktop to phablet along with the accessories and gaming console has a good demand in the market and it is growing . Though now a days the tablet is getting popular among people over netbook and laptop. The industry is hopeful that the overall PC sales specially tab and laptop for 2013-14 will increase along with the widescreen smart phones.
Software & Outsourcing The country’s ICT export exceeded 100 million US dollars in the last fiscal year and BASIS is now working with 1 billion US dollars. Software leaders hoped that this industry will contribute 1 percent of GDP in coming years. According to BASIS the earning from outsourcing IT jobs has increased by 56% in 2013 and at among 500 software companies in the country 178 are doing outsourcing jobs. Apps development also was most talked and inspiring among the youth. With the growth of smartphone market the mobile app development sector will grow phenomenally, as more subscribers will be downloading and using the apps on their phones.
3G and Telco The commercial operation of 3-G mobile technology has been initiated. Following various steps that were undertaken in the telecommunication sector, the number of mobile users has increased to 9.86 crore and internet users to 3.40 core.
Ecommerce /M-commerce The growth rate of ecommerce and M-commerce or Mobile Commerce is impressive here. The financial institutions has come forward to make this job easy and Bangladesh bank has been working on National gateway to facilitate both of the service.
E-Governance The government is keen to transform its activities into digital to ensure the E- Governance. The use of ICT in government services has seen mentionable progress in last few years .All the citizen services are now transforming into digital moreover the government has start e filling and others official activities transforming from analog to digital.
Fnally Bangladesh has Abundant, young, trainable labor with supportive government and active industry associations as its key Strengths. The quick learner peoples with lowest IT/ITES labor costs in comparison to India, China and Pakistan is another opportunity to invest. The ROI is as impressive as anyone can think to endow.
