McCullum records fastest World Cup fifty
(1/1)
imam.hasan:
New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has scored the fastest fifty in World Cup history, off 18 balls, against England in Pool A on Friday.
Electing to bat first, the English batting line-up was devastated by Tim Southee (7-33) as the Kiwis bundled them out for a paltry 123.
Opener McCullum came out all guns blazing with boundaries on all sides of the wicket, and banished pacer Steven Finn over the point boundary for a six in the sixth over to break his own record.
The record is the third-fastest in ODIs overall.
He previously scored a 20-ball fifty against Canada at St Lucia in the 2007 World Cup.
