Daffodil Textile Reunion 2015 held at Daffodil International University


Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University addressing as the chief guest at the program of Daffodil Textile Reunion 2015 organized by DIU Textile Club and department of Textile Engineering of Daffodil International University.



Department of Textile Engineering and Daffodil International University Textile Club (DIUTC) jointly organized Daffodil Textile Reunion 2015 on May 22, 2015 at DIU permanent Campus at Ashulia. Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as the chief guest while Engr. Abdur Rashid, General Manager, Lusaka Garments was present as the special guest. Presided over by Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahbub –Ul Haque Majumder, Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, the function was also addressed by Prof. Dr. Engr. A K M Fazlul Haque, Registrar,  Prof. Dr. M. Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant Professor, Department of Textile Engineering and Convener of the Daffodil Textile Reunion 2015. The day long program included Bus Rally, Games & Sports, Fun Events & Raffle Draw, Picnic and musical soiree. Around 1200 passing out graduates of Textile Engineering department attended the reunion program.
Addressing as the chief guest Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman said, Textile Engineering graduates passing out from Daffodil International University have been playing a vital role in the Textile and Garments sector of the country and due to its quality and standard education by this time DIU graduates have proven their potentiality in respective fields. Since its inception a total of 1760 Textile Engineers passed out from the department and single one is unemployed. He stressed that this type of reunion will strength the interaction and the bond of relationship among the graduates will be stronger.

While delivering the presidential address Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahbub –Ul Haque Majumder pointed out the chronological and gradual development and growth of the department which started with only 9 students in the first semester in 2005.
