History of Marathon Race
(1/1)
Shampa Iftakhar:
Marathon Race reminds us a great Greek messenger Pheidippides. He was the fastest runner of Greece. When the Persian emperor Darius attacked Greece, Pheidippides was sent from Athens to Sparta. He ran and completed 420 kilometers within 2 days. The Greek won that battle. He was again called upon to Athens to deliver this news of victory. He reached there within a short time.He delivered the good news. But he died immediately. :(
