Thanks Orange for giving us lots of synonyms of the words!

 fluvial is a technical word that means to be connected with rivers: fluvial erosion

 flux: Our society is in a state of flux. Here flux indicates a continuous change.

 flurry: Her arrival caused a flurry of excitement.( an occasion when there is a lot of activity, interest, excitement within a short period of
          time.     
          flurries of snow/rain (a small amount of snow/ rain that falls for a short time.)

 foible: we have to tolerate each other's little foibles.

 fog-horn: He got a voice like fog-horn.
