Developing a Reading Habit
« on: February 02, 2011, 05:27:20 PM »
This is my gut feeling that if somehow we can develop a reading habit then we can excel our knowledge and later on apply the acquired knowledge in our every day's working arena.

The moot question is "How Can We Develop this Habit" or " What Motivations Required towards this"

You may have a strong passion for reading. However, you'll feel that there's no time for reading in your daily life. Directly or indirectly that may create a kind of disappointment in you. In that case, only strong determination can build a good reading habit. That means, everyday you have to make some time for reading. For example, people who are commuter, can choose the time for reading when they travel.

Ya I agree that determination and Perseverance is mandatory to materialize our dreams. I got to know that people in nordic countries have a good habit of reading. They even keep reading while they ply in trains or buses. So we must make reading a habit.

Yes.......there is no better way of gathering knowledge other than sharing information in modern day's era. Once you have completed reading a book you can lend it to your friends and let others to know about it. In this process you can share necessary information with the surrounding people.

The use of television, mobile, and internet is increasing in an increasing way; this situation has caused many people to change their likes or habits and the way that they are used to doing certain things. Because of technology, many people spend less time reading, but reading has a paramount importance both in student and professional life. The main reasons are to improve knowledge, to expand the way of understanding, to know about different views and opinions of different people, to have more fun, to make one's imagination fly, and to find new ways to express one's ideas.

Please enjoy reading more often. There are excellent reasons for doing it;  you just want to expand your knowledge, to improve your imagination and also to increase your vocabulary. We should cope with technology; that is true but we must not forget the books. Please start reading good books at the beginning, and you  will never stop doing that.

Those who worship the natural elements enter darkness (Air, Water, Fire, etc.). Those who worship sambhuti sink deeper in darkness. [Yajurveda 40:9]; Sambhuti means created things, for example table, chair, idol, etc.
