« on: April 03, 2017, 05:28:23 PM »
                                                                            Global money week

Continuing last 3 years, recently Daffodil International University has organized the Global Money Week 2017 on 1ST April on their own Campus. Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank was the Chief Guest of these program. Honorable Chairman of Daffodil Family, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, Former Education secretary, Head of CRM in Simanto Bank, Managing Director of Renaissance, Education Manager of ACCA Bangladesh, Manager of British council, Rene cuartero from Child & Youth Finance International etc.  Peoples were present in this prestigious program.
Basically this program is organized for creating awareness among the students of different level. In our country students are rarely conscious about saving money. Even parents are not aware to teach their child about money. So it is need to convince the students about saving.
In our country parents are usually not like to give money to their children but in develop country parents are used to give money to their child and encourage them to save. They save money and used to buy their toys or chock let. Even some of them planning for summer campaign or higher study.
We need to bring this concept in our country and spread it countrywide. For this reason Daffodil International University has taken initiative to develop this concept in our country.
Daffodil International University in association with Jobsbd.  also organized this program on 2nd April in Chittagong. We are also planning to organize other big cities in Bangladesh.
The guests who joined the program in Dhaka has share their idea and concept how to develop this project in our country. Lots of opinion and concepts were come out from them. Also some students of our university has taken part on this program and share their idea.
Some of the speaker gave emphasize on opening Bank account of the children, but some were oppose as this program is already running and there are lots of formalities to be complete to open a bank account. Some are talking about home learning but if the parents are not educated who will teach the children. So lots of concepts, anti-concepts were come out and finally we make a conclusion what we exactly need to do for circulating the program country wide.
1st of all the banks should be come front to take initial initiative. In this case Bangladesh bank have to take 1st step for appreciating this project. Then others bank can be come. If Bangladesh bank emphasize on it then others bank must be come.
Every banks or other renowned companies has their own CSR fund. If they spend 10-15% of their CSR fund on this issue, it will be handsome contribution for this project.
In every school their need to council the students to save their money. School should encourage the students. Not only the school level students but also the college and university going students need to council about this issues. So we have to spread the message of saving in every educational institute.
We can make aware the lower level parents about saving. It is common that they are not conscious about the saving even they have no idea how to save or how to develop saving concept. So it is very much necessary to teach them. In this case NGOs's can help us to motivate the parents and to develop the concept among them.
Our 1st priority to develop this in our university, among the student of DIU. If we can do it our project will be succeed half time.
