The PVM-1001 is a high-speed pulse generator featuring an output voltage range from 0 V to 950 V achievable in less than 10 ns (rise time). The pulse generator operates at frequencies up to 1 MHz, with typical applications in instrument calibration, component testing, and beam steering.
With advanced pulse power circuitry using IXYS IXDI604SI MOSFET drivers, and high voltage, high-speed MOSFET switches, the PVM-1001 drives a 50 Ω load from 0 V to 950 V with less than an 8 ns rise time. Pulse widths can be varied from 55 ns to 10,000 ns with repetition rates to 1 MHz (burst to 5 MHz). The output pulse width and frequency are controlled by an external trigger source.
The PVM-1001 is designed for pulsed applications including instrument calibration, component testing, beam steering and Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) and Multichannel Plate (MCP) gating, as well as other applications requiring precision high-speed, high voltage pulses, delivered into 50 Ω.
Weighing less than 0.5 kg with a volume of just 1325 cubic centimeters (81 cubic inches), the PVM-1001 is ideal for airborne and mobile applications requiring a compact, lightweight pulse generator that is simple to connect and operate. “The PVM-1001 offers a compact, high-performance addition to IXYS Colorado’s successful line of high-power, high-speed pulse generators,” said Stephen Krausse, General Manager of DEI.
“This pulser leverages decades of IXYS Colorado design and power integration experience to deliver one of the most versatile and compact 50 Ω high-voltage pulse generators available on the market today.”
