Tourist Police Bangladesh unveils Hello Tourist safety app
« on: April 24, 2018, 05:19:33 PM »
In an effort to ease the travels of tourists in the country, Tourist Police Bangladesh have unveiled a new Android app designed to make contacting tourism authorities and requesting help as simple as two taps on your smartphone.

The app, named Hello Tourist, is essentially a hub containing a variety of information that may be useful to tourists, including the contact numbers of all senior Tourist Police officers and operational teams. The Tourist Police website and Facebook page updates are also provided through the app, according to a Facebook post by Tourist Police Bangladesh.

Not just a glorified contact book, Hello Tourist also contains maps with the locations of both listed Tourist spots and Tourist police officers, to ensure you never need to feel out of reach of help. The app also contains facilities to submit complaints on the go, rather than having to submit them after the fact.

Perhaps the most important part of the app, however, is an “SOS” button that ensures you only need one tap to notify the authorities that you need assistance.

The app is currently available for Android on the Google Play store, while work on the iOS version is currently ongoing.
