Narrated Jabir:
Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) came to visit me while I was sick and unconscious. He performed ablution and sprinkled the remaining water on me and I became conscious and said, "O Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam)! To whom will my inheritance go as I have neither ascendants nor descendants?" Then the Divine verses regarding Fara'id (inheritance) were revealed.
আবুল ওলীদ (র)... জাবির (রা) থেকে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেনঃ আমার পীড়িত অবস্থায় একবার রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) আমার খোঁজ-খবর নিতে এলেন। আমি তখন এতই অসুস্থ ছিলাম যে আমার জ্ঞান ছিল না। তারপর তিনি উযূ করলেন এবং তাঁর উযূর পানি আমার ওপর ছিটিয়ে দিলেন। তখন আমার জ্ঞান ফিরে এল। আমি বললাম, ইয়া রাসূলাল্লাহ! (আমার) ‘মীরাস’ কে পাবে? আমার একমাত্র ওয়ারিস হল কালালা (অর্থ পিতামাতা ও সন্তান-সন্ততি ছাড়া অন্যেরা)। তখন ফারায়েযের আয়াত নাযিল হল।
