Dear Faculty Member,
The biggest challenge of a teacher is to get a student to take ownership of the learning material and engage in learning the subject. To help understand how students learn much research has been done worldwide. As a result of research the "Learning Pyramid" attached has been created. This shows that a student only retains 5% of what has been said in a lecture, whereas if a teacher can get a student to teach his peers, he/she retains 90%!
We need innovative ways how to achieve this both in the classroom as well as with the support of technology. The Learning Feedback System (LFS) can also be used as a tool to do this. To brainstorm on how the LFS can be used, a blog has been opened at:
