Some of we may have confusion related to DSS.
This attached chapter presents a generic architecture that provides terminology for discussing decision support systems and furnishes a unifying framework for guiding explorations of the multitude of issues related to designing, using, and evaluating these systems. The architecture is comprised of four main subsystems : language system, presentation system, knowledge system, and problem-processing system. By varying the makeup of these four elements, different types of decision support systems are produced. Several of the most prominent types of decision support systems are described from an architectural viewpoint.
