The modern trend calls upon the demand on creating moments of a lifetime which are essential to achieve success. To create a memory there is no alternative of learning to manage a successful event. To prepare students to meet those demands of the 21st century, a half-day seminar had been arranged by Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship on November 26, 2018. The seminar was initiated by Lecturer, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Ms. Sharmin Sultana.
Mr. Arefin Azam Rohan, Assistant Catering Manager, Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka was the facilitator. The seminar was arranged as a part of coursework for the students of “Hospitality Sales and Marketing” and “Convention Management”.
Mr. Mahbub Parvez, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management and other faculty members were present in the seminar. Facilitator urge the need to create successful event managers, put forward the practical point-of-view from his real-time experience and suggested various avenues to manage successful events. Organizing seminar like this will help reduce the gap between practical expertise in the respected field and academic affiliations. Students learnt about the procedures of sales in hotels, organizing events and also the way of presenting spontaneously.
