Adult literacy rate is the percentage of people ages 15 and above who can both read and write with understanding a short simple statement about their everyday life.

    Bangladesh literacy rate for 2017 was 72.89%, a 0.13% increase from 2016.
    Bangladesh literacy rate for 2016 was 72.76%, a 7.62% increase from 2015.
    Bangladesh literacy rate for 2015 was 65.14%, a 4.04% increase from 2014.
    Bangladesh literacy rate for 2014 was 61.09%, a 0.08% increase from 2013.
