Bangladesh Poverty Rate 1983-2020

Poverty headcount ratio at $5.50 a day is the percentage of the population living on less than $5.50 a day at 2011 international prices. As a result of revisions in PPP exchange rates, poverty rates for individual countries cannot be compared with poverty rates reported in earlier editions.

    Bangladesh poverty rate for 2016 was 84.50%, a 3.2% decline from 2010.
    Bangladesh poverty rate for 2010 was 87.70%, a 1.6% decline from 2005.
    Bangladesh poverty rate for 2005 was 89.30%, a 2.3% decline from 2000.
    Bangladesh poverty rate for 2000 was 91.60%, a 1.1% decline from 1995.
