You will be pleased to know that Daffodil International University is hosting the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Dhaka Regional International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) 2012 on Saturday December 8, 2012 at Radisson Blue hotel.
ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (abbreviated as ACM-ICPC or just ICPC) is an annual multi-tiered competitive programming competition among the universities of the world. The contest is supported by IBM. Headquartered at Baylor University, with autonomous regions on six continents, the ICPC is directed by Baylor Professor William B. Poucher, Executive Director, and operates under the auspices of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
The ICPC is a team competition and during the contest, the teams are given 5 hours to solve between 8 and 12 programming problems. In this Dhaka regional, top two teams will receive ticket to World Finals to be held in Europe.
This year the expectation is that as many 150 teams from 50+ universities comprising 3 contestants each from all over the country including Asian countries like China, India, Malaysia, Nepal, and Bhutan will participate in this competition. Leading IT professionals and most of the universities of the country are going to be associated with this prestigious event. Besides, this contest is one of the top computing event known Internationally.
