LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MERIT BASED ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Loyola University New Orleans, a Jesuit and Catholic institution of higher
education, welcomes students of diverse backgrounds and prepares them to
lead meaningful lives with and for others; to pursue truth, wisdom, and virtue;
and to work for a more just world.
Loyola provides nearly 450 merit based academic scholarships each year. The scholarships are
partial tuition ranging from 6,000/yr to 22,000/yr. Scholarships are also available for music and
drama majors based on auditions.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

As a Catholic liberal arts college in the Norbertine tradition, St. Norbert College is dedicated to educating the whole individual. St. Norbert provides the appropriate academic support services for students to succeed in an environment where faculty and staff colleagues are available to assist students in a personal way as they seek to excel in their chosen fields of study and career paths.

In order to internationalize its campus and increase its enrollment of well-qualified international
students, St. Norbert College offers merit-based tuition awards to highly qualified international
students who apply to study in a degree program at St. Norbert College. Award decisions are made
after application documents are received and the applicant’s file is complete. Awards are renewable
for up to four years based on the condition the student remains in good academic standing. No
separate application is required for award consideration. Recipients must maintain a good social
standing and a cumulative grade point average that is in-line with the amount of scholarship
received.

SUNY BUFFALO LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

Since its founding in 1887, SUNY Buffalo Law School – the State University of New York system's only law school – has established an excellent reputation and is widely regarded as a leader in legal education. Its cutting-edge curriculum provides both a strong theoretical foundation
and the practical tools graduates need to succeed in a competitive marketplace, wherever they choose to practice.

SUNY Buffalo Law School is still accepting applications to the General and Criminal Law LL.M.
programs for Fall 2012! As a public law school, our tuition is lower than what you may find at most
private law schools: the 2012-2013 out-of-state tuition rate is $35,220. In addition, we offer up to

UNIVERSITY OF IOWA GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS

The University of Iowa is a major national research university located on a
1,900-acre campus in Iowa City in southeast Iowa. The University has world
renowned research programs in genetics, hydraulics, and speech and hearing,
and has recorded major innovations in agricultural medicine, biocatalysis,
biomedical engineering, biomedical sciences, and pharmacology education.
Teaching and research assistantships are a great source of extra income for graduate students, and
they are available in most University departments. Stipends for 2011-12 are $16,908 for a half-time
academic-year appointment and $20,664 for a half-time fiscal-year appointment. In addition, doctoral
students may receive a minimum annual stipend of $24,000 plus tuition for as many as four years.
During the final year, recipients receive $25,500 annually plus full tuition.

COMMUNITY COLLEGES STILL HAVE SPACE FOR FALL

ADMISSION

Community colleges still have space for Fall admission, and can be a much better fit for some students. A common trend, community college students can earn a 2-year associate's degree before transferring to a 4-year institution for two years to earn their bachelor's degree. For international students this system can be help to lower education costs, and act as a pathway to more prestigious universities.

In deciding if community college is the right fit, international students are encouraged to think about long-term academic goals, check accreditation and that credits will transfer, determine English proficiency, and get a sense of the culture, and decide on housing needs.

SINCLAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO INCREASE INTERNATIONAL

STUDENT ADMISSIONS

Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio developed a 5-year strategy
to increase admissions of international students and extend its global reach. Sinclair's $2.4 million
International Education Strategic Plan will focus on offering more courses with a global component,
foreign languages, a global scholars program, and will send more faculty, staff, and students abroad to strengthen relationships with sister schools. Through this plan, Sinclair looks forward to
enhancing the exchange of ideas and world views.

SAINT JOSEPH'S UNIVERSITY OPENS NEW COMMONS AND RESIDENCE HALL

The Post Learning Commons opened at Saint Joseph's University in March 2012. The entire project doubled the existing library space for students while providing a total of 120 computer work stations, 24 collaborative study rooms, and an enhanced cafe with an outdoor plaza. There is also a satellite office for the Career Service Center, Writing Center and Learning Resource Center. Several "green" elements, such as a partial green roof and ivy walls are included.

Saint Joseph's University will also welcome the opening of Villager Hall in August 2012. Villager Hall
is a four store, co-ed residence hall that will accommodate 400 first-year students. The University is still accepting undergraduate international freshmen and transfer applications and offering scholarships for Fall 2012 start. All new applicants are encouraged to contact David Sicoli,
