Raw materials (For loose face powder)

Raw materials (For compact face powder):
Compact face powder has great popularity due to its extreme ease of application and storage convenience. A compact powder is dry powder which has been compressed into a cake and usually applied with a powder puff. Essentially the raw materials constituting the pressed powder are same as loose face powder. But for compact powder, binding agents are necessary to compress easily, then hold together and not to crumble or chip under normal conditions of use.
Binding agents-
The number of binders employed in face powders is varied and extensive. There are five basic types of binders used-
01. Dry binders:
Metallic stearates such as zinc or magnesium stearate are used as dry binders. The use of dry binders requires increase pressure for firm compacting.
02. Oil binders:
Oils alone such as mineral oil, isopropyl myristate and lanolin derivatives are most commonly used.
03. Water-soluble binders:
Water-soluble binders are solution of gum (natural or synthetic); such as, Natural- tragacanth, karaya and arabic; Synthetic- polyvinylpyrollidone (PVP), methyl cellulose, carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC). A preservative is essential for water-soluble binders because of bacteriological growth problem.
04. Water-repellent binders:
Water repellent binders are widely used in compact face powder. Mineral oils, fatty esters of all types and lanolin derivatives are most widely used.
05. Emulsion binders:
It is very difficult to incorporate water repellent binders homogeneously in compact face powder. To solve this problem newly developed emulsion type binding agents are now widely used. Emulsion binding agents may employ soaps such as Triethanol amine stearate, non-ionic emulsifiers and Glyceryl monostearate in mineral oil-water combinations.

Sir are you suggesting to use this long listed chemicals or to be far apart from them?
