Dear All,

It is our great pleasure to let you know that DIU is going to publish a magazine once in a semester in ENGLISH in collaboration with The Daily Star. It is needless to say anything regarding importance of Communication Skill in English. We hope to publish our First issue on the first day of Bangla Noboborsha 1421, 14th April, 2014. We would love to see our beloved students from all departments contributing to the magazine with their creative write ups on any topic. Topics can be of diverse interests like my first day at university, Foundation Day, Job Fair, bangla Nobo borsho, Happy Spring, any interesting experience, quiz, games, puzzles, hobbies, visiting a place, book review, cinema critique, victory day, independence day, any translation work ( from bangla to english), studying in private universities, hostel life anything our students feel like to write on. The length of the write up should be from 150 words to 350 words. It will be appreciated if writer can attach a passport size photo and a befitting picture (if required) of the event with the write ups. The last date of sending write up is 31st March 2014. A panel of English Department teachers and Director of Students Affairs in collaboration with The Daily Star editing panel will work for editing and little bit of modifying if required.

Write ups should be sent to the following e-mail by 31st March
engoffice@daffodilvarsity.edu.bd

Please share your creative mind and connect yourself with the faster world!

Fuchka is already very popular with  English department teachers. Everyday we are losing 30 taka each and more than that. It's really crispy and the sour gravy(tok) is really mouth watering. Sandwiches  and singaras are also upto the mark.

Well done, pour us with more delicious dishes!

Common Forum / regarding ablution seat
« on: March 14, 2012, 02:24:00 PM »
Dear All,

Hope all of you are doing fine!

I would like to draw your attention regarding ablution seat. We need at least one or two ablution seat(s) in all our washrooms. What do you think?

We sit in the 5th floor of Sobhanbagh campus. We teachers of 3/ 4 departments share three washrooms, one for male teachers, one for female teachers and one for officials. Whenever we do ablution we need to wash our feet and the whole washroom gets wet. It becomes very inconvenient for him/her who visits after ablution. It makes our dress wet and dirty and also makes the floor muddy.

Since we stay  in our office for 6 hours, and sometimes more than that we need to say our prayers at least once or some times twice. I think it will be very convenient for us specially female teachers if we can get an ablution seat beside our wash basins where a tap can be set easily and a drain can be connected for water dropping.

Await your valuable response.

Always very best for all of you.

Nice work Nusrat madam.

It's like soft copy of AD Hamilton's book.

can be a good source of students reading material.

I love the table...you know they are so confusing, also love to have the Greek and Roman names side by side.

Dear Jahangir and Shajib,

Being a  part of organizers, i feel very proud to read your reflection.

Undoutedly, it was a success. And my dear fellows, you know every success has responsibility as well! Now being the beneficiaries of the event you have to encourage your friends more to participate. You know this time students of business club specially, shajal, Rony made me to take the initiative. We teachers can introduce a procedure or technique but it depends completely on you students to continue and carry out anything. That's why my request is, share the event with your friends and make a positive motivation for learning with fun.

We can add different dimention in spelling bee...next time it can be of synonym and antonym..sometimes it can be of grammar structures.

Look forward to your enthusiastic participation in next semester!

Fondly,

Umme Kulsum madam

Dear Madam,

It's a good idea. if not five at least 2 students from each batch. We have to encourage more number of students to participate...competition will be harder then...and students will be more benefited.

Once again thank you for being with spelling Bee always!
