We all want to give interesting, effective and memorable presentations. Our main objective as a presenter is to deliver a message. So, good presentation skills are must for any person working in the corporate world today. Many people are tensed while presenting in front of an audience, whether big or small since it is a valuable means of reaching out to large number of people. Excellent presentation skills call for generating curiosity and enthusiasm amongst the audience.

The majority of students now-a-days at different level of education face Course Presentation and surely going to deliver lots of presentation at some point of their Career. But it is my personal observation that students have lots of problem in their presentation. They are doing same mistakes in every presentation as they are not following what their teachers are telling about their presentation. Unconsciousness regarding their scripts, preparation, speech delivery approach, slides, etc. creates this problem.

As a student of finance, I had to do lots of presentation in my different courses. Initially, I had such type of problems but when i was about to leave the university, i felt confident as a good presenter. I observed my growth of confidence.

Presentations are certainly a time when you can let your personality show. It is all about confidence.
Confidence in yourself as a person, as well as confidence in your work!

So, a workshop is designed for 7-10 days named “Executive Presentation Skill Development under Intensive Care” where only 15 students will be taken under intensive care to improve their presentation skill by several practices. Details regarding workshop will be published later.

You are right, Shibli Sir! That workshop should be for all of the DIU students. But the problem is that, this workshop is only for one day(six hours). Within this limited time it is hard to make the non-business students understand about Capital market as there are many business jargons with which only business students are comfortable. But, i have a plan to make such type of workshop for non-business students also, which will be for 2/3 days. In that workshop every one can participate.

I do agree with Shibli sir that most of the students study at night before the exam. To reduce this tendency, we can take some steps such as-

-Most of the time we see that if we assign students to do a task as an assignment, they try to copy it as they do not read at home. To avoid this, sometimes we may ask questions on the assignment topic to the students at the time of collecting assignments. If they fail to answer us properly we can tell them to do the assignment again with an additional task. In this way, they will be encouraged to submit the assignment with a good knowledge on the topic to avoid this punishment.

-After finishing our lecture we can let them go through about what we have discussed in that class (but not in depth) for ten minutes from their lecture copy. After that we can ask questions and based on their performance we can reward them a bonus point. In this way they will be motivated to listen our lectures attentively and write it in their copy.

By taking the above steps i hope we will be able to motivate them to study from the beginning of the course.
