Research Ideas / Inviting Research Ideas from Faculty Members
« on: March 25, 2019, 11:07:11 AM »
Welcome to this forum. We invite DIU faculty members to share their research ideas and discuss in a collaborative manner. As you know that we want to establish a sustainable research culture in the university. Since we do not have opportunity to offer a research degree (Masters by Research or PhD) we may involve our students in our research endeavors. As you know that there are a good number of students in each department who want to do research with the faculty members. We have to create research opportunities for them and given them support from the departments. It will help them to have easy access to postgraduate studies in foreign universities.

Hope to see you vibrant.

The Department of Multimedia and Creative Technology (MCT) has planned to conduct workshops by the skilled students of the department on a regular basis to fill in the knowledge gap and improve skills on a particular software. The workshops will be conducted every week on Wednesdays and Thursdays in our computer labs for limited number of students. Unfortunately, we cannot start our first workshop scheduled on tomorrow (Wednesday) because of the unavoidable situation around.

Moreover, we will invite experts from different multimedia industry to arrange such works for the students throughout the semester. This kind of workshops will be a routine work of this department.

MCT / MCT Department is moving toward creating Visual Effects (VFX)
« on: January 14, 2015, 01:01:39 PM »

Visual effects involve combination of live action footage and generated images for creating environments which look realistic. Many renowned film making industries use visual effects to create amazing effects and realistic environments in films. Through VFX, the artists or producers can make exciting things happen in movies such as bomb blasts, natural disasters, flying objects, superpowers, fighting with dangerous animals etc which are difficult or impossible to shoot in reality. A set of motion capture equipments is required for creating such  effects.

MCT Department has taken initiative to adopt motion capture equipments in the lab with an intention to make interesting and creative short films and prepare our students for the competitive job market.

3. Produce high-quality bound characters, often with just a few clicks

4. Simulate complex 3D visual effects

5. Create realistic deformable materials

6. Simulate atmospherics, liquids, and open water

7. Get high-quality skinning results in less time. (video: 1:05 min.)

We look forward to see very good outcomes from our students and teachers.
