ড্যাফোডিল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটিতে বাংলাদেশে প্রথম বারের মতে ব্যাচেলর ইন এন্ট্রিপ্রিনিউরশিপ ডেভেলপমেন্ট (বিইডি) প্রোগ্রাম স্টিপ্রং সেমিষ্টার-২০১৫ থেকে চালু হয়েছে । চার বছর মেয়াদি এ প্রোগ্রামটি ইউজিসির অনুমোদনপ্রাপ্ত। নিজের পায়ে দাঁড়াতে সাহায্য করার লক্ষ্য নিয়ে, বেকার না থেকে স্বাবলম্বী করে গড়ে তোলার উদ্দেশ্য এবং প্রতিযোগিতামূলক পরিবেশে একজন তরুণ/তরুণী স্বীয়, মেধা- মনন ও শ্রম দিয়ে তার অস্তিত্বকে কেবল সুসংহত করবে না বরং সামাজিক ও রাষ্ট্রীয় কল্যাণে দৃঢ়তা সাথে ও ন্যায় নিষ্ঠার সাথে উদ্যোক্তা হিসাবে যাতে গড়ে উঠতে পারেন সে জন্যেই এ প্রোগ্রামটি চালু করা হচ্ছে। এদেশের যুব সমাজের রয়েছে অমিত শক্তি। বাংলাদেশ একটু একটু করে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে সামনের দিকে, আর্থ-সামাজিক ক্ষেত্রে উন্নয়ন ঘটছে। এ সিলেবাসে তত্ত্ব এবং বাস্তব সম্মত ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্যিক ও আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান সহ সকল ধরনের শিক্ষা-প্রশিক্ষণ ও বাস্তবতার মিশেল দেয়া হয়েছে। বস্তুত উদ্দ্যোক্তা হওয়ার জন্যে যেসব বৈশিষ্ট্যের প্রয়োজন সেগুলোর স্বতস্টম্ফূর্তভাবে স্টম্ফূরণ ঘটানো, উদ্ভাবনী শক্তির বিকাশ, দীর্ঘমেয়াদে পরিবর্তনশীলতার সাথে প্রতিযোগিতা করে স্বীয় অস্তিত্বকে টিকিয়ে রাখার পাশাপাশি সল্ফপ্রসারণ করা এবং সামাজিক দায়বদ্ধতাকে পূরণ করার মাধ্যমে ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য ও উৎপাদন ব্যবস্থায় আধুনিকতা আনায়ন করা, প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার সম্পর্কে স্বচ্ছ ধারণা এবং প্রায়োগিক কলা-কৌশলের দিক নিদর্শন করে বাস্তবায়নের ব্যবস্থা করাই হচ্ছে এ প্রোগ্রামের মুখ্য ভূমিকা। প্রতিযোগিতামূলক বাজার ব্যবস্থার কারণেই উদ্যোক্তা তৈরি হওয়া, দক্ষতা ও কার্যকারিতা বৃদ্ধি কেবল নিজের কর্মসংস্থান নয় অন্যের কর্মের সুযোগ করে দেয়ার জন্যে এ প্রোগ্রামের পাঠ্যক্রম হোলিস্টক অ্যাপ্রোচ হিসাবে প্রণয়ন করা হয়েছে। এ পাঠ্যক্রম পরিচালনার জন্য দেশি বিদেশি শিক্ষকদের একটি প্যানেল কাজ করেছে। পাশাপাশি দেশি-বিদেশি উদ্যোক্তরাও এ পাঠ্যক্রমের সাথে জড়িত রয়েছেন। দেশি উদ্যোক্তাদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন ড্যাফোডিল গ্রুপের চেয়ারম্যান সবুর খান সহ অনেকেই। এ পাঠ্যক্রমটি পরিচালনার জন্য আশুলিয়াস্থ স্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাসে ইনকিউবেটর স্থাপন করা হচ্ছে। ইতিমধ্যে বাংলাদেশ ভেঞ্চার ক্যাপিটেল লিমিটেড, ড্যাফোডিল স্টার্ট আপ মার্কেট এবং স্টার্ট আপ রেস্টুরেন্ট যেখানে উদ্ভাবনী শক্তির বিকাশ ঘটাবে সেটি স্থাপন করা হয়েছে হাতে-কলমে শিক্ষার জন্য। আবার আইএমএসএমই ফাউন্ডেশন ইন বাংলাদেশের সদস্য যারা ইতোমধ্যে প্রতিষ্ঠিত উদ্যোক্তাদের সাথে শিক্ষানবিশ উদ্যোক্তাদের সাহচর্য পাবেন যা তাদের ভবিষ্যৎ জীবনকে সাফল্যের দিকে এগিয়ে নিতে সাহায্য করবে। বিদেশে শিক্ষা সফরের ব্যবস্থা পাঠ্যক্রমের আওতায় রয়েছে। এ ক্ষেত্রে সামাজিক পুঁজি ও নেটওয়ার্কিং এর বিশেষ সুযোগ সঞ্চারিত হবে। দেশে লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য দূরীকরণে এ প্রোগ্রাম সহয়তা করবে। বস্তুতঃ দেশের কল্যাণের কথা বিবেচনা নিয়ে এবং সামাজিক দায়বদ্ধতার জন্যে উচ্চ শিক্ষার ক্ষেত্রে একটি স্টেপিং স্টোন স্থাপনের মাধ্যমে মাইল ফলক সৃষ্টি করতে ড্যাফোডিল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটির এ প্রয়াস।

Abdullah Al Kaiyum Kafi, Student, Department of Law, Daffodil International University, bearing ID # 131-26-466 and President of Youth Against Hunger Bangladesh, National Committee and Public Relation Secretary of Social Business Students Forum (SBSF) , Daffodil International University have been flaying to Japan for joining Global Youth Conference 2015 to be held on 20th to 28th August 2015 organized by Hunger Free World, Japan.
Youth Against Hunger (YAH), the youth wing of Hunger Free World, is not-for-profit organization with headquarters in Japan and offices in Bangladesh, Benin, Uganda and Burkina Faso. YAH is the Bangladesh chapter of Youth Ending Hunger (YEH). Based in Japan, YEH has been internationally active since 1991. Both YEH and YAH operate by the motto: “do not let hunger end our youth, let our youth end hunger”.
Global Youth Conference takes place every two years after where Abdullah Al Kaiyum Kafi will represent Bangladesh as the YAH Youth Ambassador .The Conference featured activity report from all country, seminar on current trends of international cooperation, program for raising awareness on eradication of hunger and poverty, workshop on methodology of effective program implement ion, pre-event for world food day in October, School & NGO visit in Fukushima.

Like every year to encouraging the joys of reunions and gatherings of current and former students, the Department of Law of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized “Daffodil Law Teachers-Students Day – 2015” at DIU auditorium on August 13, 2015.
Barrister M. Naser Alam, Advocate Supreme Court of Bangladesh and an expert in energy and petroleum law and international arbitration, was present as the motivational speaker and the Guest of Honour at the program. Professor Dr. Aminul Isalm, Professor Emeritus and founder Vice Chancellor of DIU and Professor Dr. Lutfur Rahman, Professor Emeritus and former Vice Chancellor of DIU were present as special guests. Madam Farhana Helal Mehtab, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Law was the Chair of the session.
Four books written by the faculty members of Law Department of Daffodil International University published in the current academic year were launched by the honorable guests at the program.
The books are:
1. Terrorism and Counter Terrorism: Legal Issues, Challenges and Responses by Md. Abdul Halim, Barrister at Law and Farhana Helal Mehtab, Associate Professor, DIU
2. Juris: A Layman’s Guide to the Law by Abdullah Al Arif, Lecturer, DIU
3. ADR Mechanism: Bangladesh Perspective by Farhana Helal Mehtab and Abdur Rahim, Lecturer
4. Outlines of Evidence Act by Sadiqul Islam Sagar and Talukder Rasel Mahmud, Lecturer, DIU

Professor Dr. Aminul Islam said in his speech that law as a profession is very influential and students of law are very articulate, polite and conscious citizens in every country. He praised the initiative of the Law Department for organizing such a program to build a bridge between former and current students.
Professor Dr. Lutfur Rahman said that we, as a nation, are gradually losing our moral and ethical strength and he urged the law teachers and students to create a moral and ethical base among them. He also praised the initiative and suggested that this kind of program should be organized by other departments of DIU as well.

While addressing, the Guest of Honour, Barrister M. Naser Alam focused on the various dimensions of legal career. He said that numerous opportunities are opening up in our country for the law graduates as our economy is growing, large amount of foreign investment is coming and local industries are thriving. He also mentioned that law students should come forward to fight against the widespread corruption prevalent in the country with a strong moral and ethical base. He praised the research and publications activities of the faculty members of DIU Law Department. After his speech, prizes were given to the winners of Law Essay Competition 2015 and Law Quiz Contest 2014.


The Honourable Vice Chancellor of DIU Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam joined in at the later part of the program and delivered a short yet insightful speech. He said that the gathering of former and current students would create a unity among the students which will help them in their career development in the future.
Then two alumni of first batch of DIU Law Department delivered their speeches and expressed their happiness to be a part of the program and also expressed their gratitude to be a member of the DIU Law family. Representatives from all the first nine batches of the students who have already passed out from DIU Law Department attended the program.
In the second session, teachers and students of DIU Law Department organized a cultural program. A number of songs, dances, poetry recitals, short plays and ramp modeling were performed both by the students and teachers of the department. The cultural program was open for all and the auditorium was full to the brim.

Daffodil International University paid glowing tributes to the country’s founding president and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking his 40th martyr-dom anniversary and National Mourning Day with due respect recalling the August 15, 1975 carnage, when Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed along with most of his family members. The national flag was hoisted at half-mast as the sun rises on August 15, 2015 at DIU main campus as well as permanent campus. To mark the occasion a discussion meeting followed by a prayer offered for eternal peace of Bangabandhu and his family members, who embraced martyr-dom on August 15, 1975 was offered today on August 16, 2015 seeking eternal peace of the departed souls at the Auditorium of Daffodil International University.

Mr. Nasir Uddin Yousuf Bachchu, President, Sammilito Sangskritik Jote and renowned Freedom Fighter in 1971 was present as the keynote speaker in the discussion session.
Prof Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University was the chief guest in the program while Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam and Emeritus Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman were present as the Guests of Honor.
Prof. Dr. M. Golam Rahamn, Pro-vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University presided over the program while Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director (Student Affairs), conducted the program.
While Addressing Nasiruddin Yousuf Bachchu said, Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bangali of all time, Founder of Independent Bangladesh and Father of the Nation is the symbol of unity. He urged the young generation to be resuscitated with the spirit of Liberation War and engage themselves to the task of materializing Bangabondhu’s dream of building a Golden Bengal turning into strength the grief of the great loss of the Father of the Nation.
The function was attended by all the Head of the Departments and Deans of different Faculties. A Large number of Faculty members, Officers, employees and students were present on the occasion. The members of All Star Daffodil performed in a short drama after the discussion meeting.

"Daffodil-Janabiggan Udvabon Mela-2014" begins today at Daffodil International University.With the vision to inspire and promote self educated and poor innovators of the nation, Enterprise Competitiveness Institute (ECI) of Daffodil International University and Janabiggan Foundation jointly organized the fair from 3-4 June 2014 at University Auditorium. Mr. Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Information, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the fair as chief guest. Presided over by Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University, the inaugural ceremony was addressed by Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, Prof. Dr.  M. Zaakir M. Hossain, Executive Director, Enterprise Competitiveness Institute (ECI) and Director (Studies) of Daffodil International University and Mr. Ayub Hossain, Secretary General, Janabiggan Foundation.     
Daffodil-Janabiggan Udvabon Mela-2014" will showcase the innovations, projects and creativity of urban talents which will create positive impact on socio economy development of the country. ‘Udvabon Mela’ is the platform to expose innovations and create opportunity for the naturally developed innovators in the rural and urban area of the country.

During the fair exhibition of Self Educated Scientists and their Innovations will continue from 9.00am to 6 pm on June 3-4, 2014 everyday at 4th Floor of Sobhanbagh Campus of Daffodil International University. Beside exhibition of the self educated scientists there will be few more activities like seminars, networking session with venture capitals etc.  Faculties & students from various university, scientists, innovators, visionary, policy makers and general visitors will visit the fair.

Addressing as the chief guest Information Minister Mr. Hasanul Haq Inu, MP,said, From the very beginning  of the human civilization these self educated inventors and scientists  are contributing to our society and based on their contribution the society stands till today. The main obstacles of these self educated inventors and scientists are poverty and lack of marketing knowledge. As a result, most of their innovation couldn’t bring over all welfare to the society. He said, some inventions and technological revelations change the entire world and change the order of the culture, where as the inventors are very simple human being. In this regard, he cited the references of some of our country’s self educated inventors and rural scientists like Kenu Mistri and Lipton.

He also said, development must have to be sustainable, green and digital. Under the umbrella of these three dimensional development our self educated inventors and rural scientists have to ensure Green Sustainable Agricultural Management- keeping in the mind the challenges of environment and climate changes, flood, draught and arsenic pollutions, he added.

Referring to some initiatives taken by her government, he said, present government has introduced funding in SME sector for the last five years to inspire the self educated inventors and rural scientists. He urged the bank and financial institutions to come forward for funding these self educated inventors and rural scientists as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibilities.

 He urged the students to be introduced with these self educated inventors and rural scientists and gather knowledge and share experiences from them.

In the presidential address Mr. Md. Sabur Khan said, Government Mass Media, Electronic and Print Media should come forward with more extensive role to high light the success storey of these self educated inventors and rural scientists in front of country people to inspire new generation.

He declared that Enterprise Competitiveness Institute will provide all sorts of support to the self educated inventors and rural scientists for marketing, value added services and ensure patent right of their projects and other relevant sectors.

He also ensured that those who are facing financial crisis for successful implementation of the projects, Venture Capital will come forward to finance them.

International Science Programme (ISP), Uppsala University, Sweden, supported project is being conducted by Research Development and Higher Education in DIU and is led by Dr. Md. Rausan Zamir, Assistant Professor, Department of Natural Sciences, Daffodil International University.
The project title is “Studies on Safety, Efficacy and Adverse Health Effects of Herbal Formulations of Bangladesh”. The overall goals of the project are to find out chemical and biological contaminants present in the herbal medicines and their probable adverse effect on human health, to produce skill manpower (PhD, MPhil, MS) who can serve the country, to create research facilities at home institutions and to make research collaborations with the scientists of home and abroad.
Under this project Daffodil International University is going to offer fellowship for the MPhil and PhD students having registration at any university of Bangladesh. Candidates with MS/MSc degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Applied chemistry, Pharmacy, Food and nutrition, Microbiology are eligible to apply for the fellowship.

The orientation program for the newly enrolled undergraduate students of Summer - 2014 semester of Computer Science and Engineering Department of Daffodil International University was held today on May 22, 2014 at DIU Auditorium. Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as the chief guest while Md. Md. Mahmud Hossain, CEO of Millenium Information Soliution Ltd. And Mr. M. A. Mobin Khan, Managing Director, Ethics Advanced Technology Ltd. Were present as special guests at the orientation program. The orientation function was addressed by Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor, Prof. Dr. Zakir Hossain, Director of Studies, Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahabubul Haque Majumder, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, Head, Department of CSE,Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs) of Daffodil International University. The function was conducted by Lecturer ABM Moniruzzaman and student Susmita Saha.
Addressing as chief guest, Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University, urged the newly enrolled students to make the best use of the resources provided by the university and make them fit to face the challenges of the 21st century. He said that Daffodil International University is doing well in all respects. Commitment, transparency and quality of education made the university renowned. DIU provides its students with many facilities to pursue their studies and hone their skills. Urging the students to be an ideal human being he said that three major things - discipline, honesty and quality can make life successful and to be an ideal citizen of the country he advised the students to achieve these virtues.
Addressing as the special guest Md. Mahmud Hossain said, CSE students must have enough patience and they should love to solve the programming problems whole heartedly to become a successful programmer.
Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam said, Education is indispensable and of vital importance for the development of a country and the objective of higher education is primarily to prepare an individual as a knowledgeable skilled person who can apply his knowledge for our socio-economic development and provide leadership in a required sector. He also said, we can free ourselves from poverty, hunger, disease and ignorance, if you - every one of you, young men and women- apply yourselves to it with all your heart, soul and body.
Earlier the newly enrolled students were welcomed with a rose and tuberose.

Daffodil International University is hosting this most prestigious computing event Association for Computing Machineries - International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC) Dhaka Regional 2012 in an international venue Radisson Blu Water garden Hotel on Saturday 8 December 2012 with the inspiration from the Honorable Chairman of Board of Trustees Md Sabur Khan. ACM-ICPC Dhaka Regional 2012 will be for the first time in such a international venue. This was informed at a “Meet the Press” program held at Dhaka Reporters Unity today. Prof. Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, Programming Contest Director and Head of the Department of CSE OF Daffodil International University announced the details of the event in the Meet the Press. The meet the press was also addressed by Professor Dr. M. Kaikobad, BUET, Professor Abul L Haque, Chief Coordinator, ACM-ICPC Bangladesh Council, Shariar Manjur, Judging Director and Nadir Bin Ali, Senior Assistant Director (IT), Daffodil International University.

ACM-ICPC  Dhaka Regional 2012 is an annual competitive programming competition among the universities of the Asia region . The contest is sponsored by IBM and governed under the auspices of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The regional contest winners get tickets to World Finals 2013 which will be hosted by Saint Petersburg in Russia to join the battle of the brain. Last year 30,000 students from 2000 universities in 85 countries from 6 continents participated in the regionals and only 112 teams advanced to prestigious World Finals in Warsaw, Poland.

It was informed in the Meet the Press that there will be a preliminary round event before ACM-ICPC Dhaka Regional 2012 to encourage maximum teams from all private and public universities of Bangladesh. The registration for ACM-ICPC Dhaka Regional 2012 will begin from 7 October 2012 and will continue upto 6 November 2012. The team will register at the ACM-ICPC site for the preliminary round. The expectation is as many as 500+ teams will participate in the online contest of preliminary round. The preliminary round online contest will be held on Saturday 10 November 2012 between 3:00pm and 8:00pm and monitored from Daffodil International University by the ACM-ICPC Dhaka 2012 jury panel using popular Bangladeshi online judge LightOJ provided for the kind support of preliminary round. The team registration for the preliminary round contest is free.

It was also informed that the preliminary round will select a maximum of 150 teams for ACM-ICPC Dhaka Regional 2012. Besides, there will be foreign teams from India, China, Pakistan, Srilanka, Nepal and Malaysia. With a total of 150 teams, a problem solving contest  will be held which is the largest regional contest of Asia for the first time in Bangladesh hosted by Daffodil International University. The contest director Dr Syed Akhter Hossain, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering is looking after all the necessary preparations.

Prof M Zafar Iqbal of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology will be the Chief Judge and Mr Shahriar Manzoor of Southeast University will be Judging Director and Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman of Mukto Software Ltd as Co-Director of ACM-ICPC Dhaka Regional 2012.

ACM-ICPC Dhaka Regional 2012 will be held at Grand Ball Room of Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel for 5 hours on Saturday 8 December 2012. The contestants will attempt to solve 10/12 challenging computing problems in this 5 hours. Besides, this festive contest will have Technical talks, Road Show, Job Fair, Project Showcasing, Fun Events along with huge cultural show on Saturday 8 December 2012.

This year ACM-ICPC Dhaka Regional 2012 will be very grand computing event and the detail program will be discussed in another press conference on the last week of November 2012.

DIU National Debate Festival-2012

Focusing the slogan “In dream and struggle, in variety and balance, continuous in beauty” a 10 days long DIU National Debate Festival-2012 began today on September 27, 2012 at Daffodil International University Auditorium and it will be continued up to 7th October 2012. Daffodil International University Debating Club (DIUDC) organized this Festival in association with Oxfam Bangladesh.
Mr. Rashed Khan Menon, MP, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh Parliament inaugurated the Festival as Chief Guest. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, BoT, DIU and Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU was present as the Special Guests. Presided over by Mr. Rashedul Hassan, Moderator of DIUDC the function was also addressed by Dr. M. Fokhray Hossain, Registrar, DIU, Ms. Farhana Helal Mehtad, Convener of the Festival, Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Students Affairs), DIU and Joyanto Bowmik, President, DIUDC.

There is no standard format for preparing your resume. It should be designed in such a way to impress your prospective employer and to ensure the call for an interview. Apart from the basic categories, you can add on details to make it more impressive. Always make a rough resume with all the details before you finalize on the fair one. Name, Address and Telephone: One has to give his/her permanent address with phone number if any. If you have an e-mail address, include that too.
 
Objective: It should be brief and to the point. It must give the employer an idea about your work preferences and where you want to be in your career, in future.

For example:
•   Seeking a challenging position with opportunities for career advancement and learning.
•   To have a long career in the (particular field), gain further skills and attain the goal of the organization aiming at mutual growth.

Profile: This category is optional but valuable. Here one should give an overall picture of his/her abilities and accomplishments. You must stress on your particular strengths.

For example:
•   Good knowledge on Internet Security, E-commerce Transactions, System Analysis etc.
•   More than one year experience in the particular industry.

Educational Qualification: Here one has to include your degree, specialization, institutions attended, year of graduation, subsidiary subjects studied, and any special workshops, seminars, related courses or projects done. You can give your qualifications separately as academic and professional or technical if any.

Career Graph or Work Experience: One must give details regarding the place you have worked, the position you held, your responsibilities and achievements if any, duration of work etc. List the name of the organization, give a brief description if you prefer and the place it's located. Then give your work responsibilities with an emphasis on achievements- (work projects done, targets achieved etc.) and the dates or period you have served in the organization.

Personal Profile: Your personal details like date of birth, permanent address and contact number, e-mail, passport details if any, hobbies, languages known etc.

References: References should be given with prior consent from the relevant people. This must include their name, address and phone number. It is not essential to give references in a resume. You can state that references can be furnished if needed.
