The cabinet during a regular meeting on Monday approved the draft of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Amendment Act-2015. The move will allow the central bank to seek wealth statement of foreigners living in Bangladesh, a source at the weekly cabinet meeting has said.

Common Forum / SK Sinha made new chief justice

Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, the senior judge of Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC), has been appointed as chief justice of Bangladesh.
The order will be effective from January 15.
The President in exercise of his power under article 95 (1) of the Constitution made the appointment.

A gazette of notification. issued in this regard .

Justice Sinha, popularly known as SK Sinha, will replace Justice M Muzammel Hossain who retires on January 16.

Bangladesh is one of the earliest signatories of Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and has made commendable progress in reducing child mortality. It has been stated in Article 24(1), “States Parties recognise the right of the child to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health and to facilities for the treatment of illness and rehabilitation of health. States Parties shall strive to ensure that no child is deprived of his or her right of access to such health care services”.

IN the past year , the Government of Bangladesh enacted some important laws e.g. The Journalist Welfare Trust Act, DNA Act, Chittagong Hill Tracts Board Act, Investment Corporation of Bangladesh Act, Rural Savings Bank Act etc.

 Although registration of firms is not compulsory, firms are usually registered. What are the disadvantages of non-registration of a firm under the law of partnership?
Critically analysis the present law and give guideline to resolve the disadvantages of the law.
