Common Forum/Request/Suggestions / About selling cigerates around campus

Smoking is injurious to health. We all know that very well. Our Govt. is trying to make people aware about that. Although our university authority is also careful about this matter; I think they are not much active in real purpose. I mean, inside our campus a sine board shows us that, "cigarette smoking is not allowed here". That’s it. But just few steps out from the campus there is numerous stalls who are selling cigarettes. Pedestrian often falls in the face of some cigarette smoking faces. This is quite disturbing, for any age of people who don't smoke. There are young little kids who are going to schools with their parents, cross these smokers standing in the middle of the footpath and belching smoke like there is no tomorrow. They get annoyed at this and also get a clear indication that most of these smokers belong to DIU. At this age of the students university can't dominate the students about what to do and what not to do. They can smoke (& will smoke) as their sweet will. But the authority can narrow down the path for their smoking. Administration can stop or try to stop selling cigarettes near the campus. There may be and have to be a rule against selling tobacco products near educational institutions. The thing we need is just the implication of the rule. It may be (it is!)  A difficult task to stop selling cigarettes for a single citizen (like me, or my non-smoking friends); but I guess it is a little less tough for our administration to stop selling these things near our institution.

Departments / Regarding the Classroom and Lab Problems of TE Dept.

Textile Department is the biggest department in DIU. Although we the student of TE suffer much problems during the semester. We do not have sufficient classrooms so that we need to run from the main campus to the Lalmatia campus in this hottest summer. Our lab is under construction but still we are paying for it;whether we get a chance to do our lab class or not!! Our authority is paying priority  attention to wear the ID card properly; but they are disinterested in these matters. Those classrooms in Lalmatia do not have proper multimedia support, not air conditioned. At present our Lab is under construction near that campus; so that it is nearly impossible for having proper classes because of the troublesome sound. Regarding these matters I found there is less to be proud about our university;but much to worry about.

Science and Information / Drawing the attention of the IT section

The Router in the main campus WiFi zone on the first floor is missing for about a month. Though during its presence the internet speed is not busted up so much; but without it using net in the WiFi zone is going very tough. So I on behalf of all my sufferer friends, year mates, seniors am drawing attention of the IT section to repair or replace the router in 1st floor main campus.
Hope you will realize our situation and help us accordingly.

Departments / Regarding the Late fine

Now-a-days it has been seen that the late fine for the tuition fees is increased up to 200tk. I don't want to go on a long discussion. I want to tell our Senior teachers we are reading in a private university. Already there is much pressure on our parents regarding money. If this increase goes up how can we balance? Though the amount of money increased is not much,but why should we give the increased amount of money just because the authority imposed it on us. Its not fair;simply its not fair.
JUSTICE IS NOT DONE ON US!

২২এ মার্চ। বাংলাদেশ-পাকিস্তান খেলা চলছে।আমি দেশের বাড়ি থেকে ঢাকা ফিরছি।পাকিস্তানের ইনিংস যখন শেষের পথে তখন আমি ঢাকায়। বলাকা বাসে উঠেছি মগবাজার যাব বলে।বাসে যাত্রী খুব কম, স্বাভাবিক ভাবেই সবাই খেলা দেখায় ব্যস্ত।বাসের যিনি হেল্পার কাম কনডাক্টর তিনিও দেখি রেডিও শুনছেন,আর তালি দিচ্ছেন।আমি বললাম,"মামা, কোন দল সাপোর্ট কর?" উনি বললেন,"একাত্তরে এই "..." দের কে যারা খেদাইছে তাদেরকে সাপোর্ট করি। মাগার মাঝে মাঝে খুব খারাপ লাগে মামা, যখন কিছু রাজাকারদের দেখি এদের পরশংসা করতে; ইচ্ছা হয় ধইরা শালাগুলারে জিগাই,তোগো জন্য কি এই দেশ স্বাধীন করছিলাম? আমি তো সারাদিন মানুষের মইধ্যে থাকি,অনেক কথাই কানে আয়। খুব খারাপ লাগে তখন।" আমি প্রসঙ্গ পাল্টাবার জন্য বলি, " কি মনে হয় বাংলাদেশ জিতবে?" উত্তর আসে,"জিতব না মানে, আলবাত জিতবে। আর না জিতলেও কষ্ট নাই;তয় হারামিগুলারে নাকানি চুবানি খাওয়াইয়া হারমু, এই হারায় দুখঃ নাই খালি সুখ!"

এরপরেই আফ্রিদির উইকেট পরে,condutor মামা আমার দিকে তাকায়,ভাবখানা এমন যে আজ যাই হোক...আমরা হারব না। তার কিছুখন পরে আমি বাস থেকে নেমে যাই। মনে মনে শ্রদ্ধা করি সেই অশিক্ষিত মানুষটার দেশের প্রতি ভালোবাসার...যার সমান আমি কখনও আমার দেশকে ভালোবাসি নি। ক্রিকেটে, শিক্ষায় যে মানুষটা অনেক অজ্ঞ

...কিন্তু দেশকে ভালোবাসার ব্যাপারে অনেকের চেয়ে অভিজ্ঞ।

শরীরের রোম দাঁড়িয়ে যায়...ভালোবাসি এত রক্তের বিনিময়ে পাওয়া বাংলাদেশকে
