Wearable computing has introduced new approaches, more efficient processes, and innovative products in entertainment, sports, industrial logistics, and many other areas. However, no other field is anticipating and integrating wearable technology so broadly as healthcare, with interests ranging from well-being and disease prevention to chronic patient care and cross-cutting all medical disciplines.  Wearable computing researchers have foreseen numerous healthcare applications for at least two decades. Within the past several years, however, medical professionals and engineers have started integrating wearable technology in diagnosis and care processes, validating their effectiveness with patients in observational studies and even randomized controlled trials.
A leading example is the continuous glucose monitor, which enables diabetic patients to self-monitor blood glucose levels and learn from the measurements about their body functions, leading to advanced self-management and treatment procedures.  However, the variety of wearable technologies and applications in healthcare stretches far beyond glucose monitoring. Medical journals now regularly publish articles with wearables at the center of their methodology and some, such as the Journal of Medical Internet Research, dedicate space to such technology.  What drives wearable health technology development? Although cost is a primary factor, wearable computing offers more than greater efficiency in clinical processes and the ability to monitor vital parameters—it promises to assume a unique role in maintaining health, improving patient conditions, and extending quality life-years.

বর্তমানে ইন্টারনেটে উপার্জন একটি জনপ্রিয় বিষয় হয়ে উঠেছে। অনেকেই ইন্টারনেটে উপার্জনকে ফ্রিল্যান্সিং বলেন। কিন্তু না, ইন্টারনেটে উপার্জন আর ফ্রিল্যান্সিং এক বিষয় নয়। দুটোর মধ্যে আলাদা আলাদা অর্থ রয়েছে। আমি এই আর্টিকেলে আপনাদের ইন্টারনেটে উপার্জনের পথ সমূহের সম্বদ্ধে আলোচনা করব। চলুন আগে জেনে নিই ইন্টারনেটে উপার্জন আসলে কী?

ইন্টারনেটে উপার্জন বলতে বোঝায় ইন্টারনেটকে মাধ্যম হিসেবে ধরে টাকা আয় করা। এখানে ইন্টারনেট আমাদের টাকা দেবে না। এখানে ইন্টারনেট শুধুমাত্র টাকা উপার্জনের মাধ্যম। ইন্টারনেটকে কাজে লাগিয়ে টাকা উপার্জন করা হয়। ইন্টারনেটে উপার্জনকে চারটি শ্রেণিতে ভাগ করা যায়। যথা:

১. পিটিসি বা টাস্ক কমপ্লিট করে আয়

২. মাইক্রো ফ্রিল্যান্সিং করে উপার্জন

৩. ইন্টারনেটে ব্যাবসা করে উপার্জন

৪. ফ্রিল্যান্সিং করে উপার্জন

১. পিটিসি বা টাস্ক কমপ্লিট করে আয় কী? কেমন কাজ পাওয়া যায়?

পিটিসি অর্থ Paid to click অর্থাৎ ক্লিক করে অর্থ উপার্জন। এখানে পিটিসি সাইট প্রতিদিন কিছু সংখ্যক অ্যাড বা বিজ্ঞাপন দেবে। প্রতিটি বিজ্ঞাপন ১০ থেকে ৩০ সেকেন্ড বা তার অধিক হতে পারে। প্রতিটি বিজ্ঞাপন সম্পূর্ণ করলে সামান্য পরিমাণ ডলার প্রদান করা হয়। পিটিসিতে আয় খুবই সীমিত। সারা দিন ক্লিক করেও ১ ডলার উপার্জন হবে না এবং পিটিসি সাইট খুব কম সংখ্যক বিজ্ঞাপন প্রতিদিন প্রদান করে। কিন্তু রেফারেল থাকলে আয় বেশিও হতে পারে।

২. মাইক্রো ফ্রিল্যান্সিং করে উপার্জন কী এবং কেমন কাজ পাওয়া যায়?

ছোট ছোট কাজ করে উপার্জন করাকে মাইক্রো ফ্রিল্যান্সিং বলে। মাইক্রো ফ্রিল্যান্সিং সাইটে প্রতিদিন ছোট ছোট কাজ দেয়া হয় তা সম্পূর্ণ করলে তারা কিছু পরিমাণ ডলার প্রদান করে। সারা দিনে কাজ করলে ১-৩ ডলার উপার্জন হবে এবং প্রতিদিন সীমিত কাজ পাওয়া যায়।

৩. ইন্টারনেটে ব্যবসা কাকে বলে ও কী কী?

ইন্টারনেটকে কাজে লাগিয়ে আমরা যেসব ব্যবসা করতে পারি সেগুলোই ইন্টারনেটে ব্যবসা। আসুন দেখে নিই ইন্টারনেটে কী কী ব্যবসা করা যায়।

৪. ফ্রিল্যান্সিং কী ও কী কী কাজ করা যায়?

ফ্রিল্যান্সিং অর্থ হলো মুক্তপেশা। কোনো কোম্পানি বা ব্যবসা প্রতিষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে সাময়িক চুক্তি করে তাদের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ করে দেয়াকে ফ্রিল্যন্সিং বলে। আর যে ব্যক্তি কাজ সম্পূর্ণ করে তাকে বলা হয় ফ্রিল্যান্সার। অর্থাৎ কাজ শেষ তো চুক্তি শেষ। অনেক সময় চুক্তি দীর্ঘস্থায়ীও হয়।

যে সকল কাজ আপনি কম্পিউটার দিয়ে সম্পন্ন করতে পারবেন, সে সকল কাজ করে ফ্রিল্যন্সিং করা যায় এবার দেখা হোক কী কী কাজ বেশি করা হয়।

Tech companies rang in the start of the new year by unveiling some of their ambitious plans for the coming months. Startups and multinational companies alike are beginning to feel the ripple effects of innovation in the industry, with technology becoming more intertwined in everyday lives each year.

As 2018 progresses, here are 5 future technologies you can expect to reach the public in the next couple of years.

1. The Internet of Things

The Internet of Things has long been talked about amongst tech insiders as the next big innovation in home technology. In recent years, IoT has begun carve a niche for itself in everyday life with the growing adoption of systems like Google’s Home and Amazon’s Alexa. These devices will continue to integrate more aspects of the home into one harmonious system by utilizing the internet, allowing a user to control anything from the air conditioning to their security via voice command and a small personal assistant.

2. Automation

While large-scale innovation in automation has traditionally been limited to the production side of society, the technology will have far reaching implications for consumers by 2020. Amazon’s automated grocery store, eliminating the need for cashiers, has been one of the first major tech triumphs of the year.

The store has proven itself successful as an efficient alternative for shoppers in its first location. The current cost of this technology, however, puts it out of the reach of pretty much any other storefront. As the technology continues to develop, consumers can expect that pressure sensors and cameras that automate pay and alleviate long lines in stores will be coming to groceries and pharmacies near you in the next couple of years.

3. Crypto-currency

After Bitcoin’s meteoric price jump in 2017, major tech players have begun to take cryptocurrencies seriously. Along with major Initial Coin Offerings that have hit major news outlets like Etherium, smaller companies are developing Stablecoins that provide attempt to provide all the pros of cryptocurrency transactions without the price fluctuations that have plagued the system.

As these coins begin to work themselves out and exchanges even out the fluctuations in prices, expect these assets to be mainstream methods of payment by 2020.

4. Blockchain

Blockchain, the decentralized ledger that holds together cryptocurrencies, has applications reaching far beyond financial transactions. Companies have applied the technology to everything, from simplifying tracking and access to information in academia to interesting and amusing games that use complex algorithms to create unique experiences.

5. Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence, which once may have seemed like something out of a Sci-Fi novel, is seeing the light and applications of the technology are already being worked on. In particular, with the rise of the Internet of Things, Information Technology and Cybersecurity firms have begun to adopt artificial neural networks in order to monitor and prevent DDoS attacks.

In addition to its security applications, companies like Amazon and Google have begun to apply the technology to regular consumers in order to simplify shopping and searching experiences on the platforms. With all the current progress of AI technology, it is reasonable to expect that by the year 2020 the innovation will be deeply entrenched in both business and consumer activities.

Setting a new world record for quantum teleportation, two separate teams of scientists have managed to move small units of information from one place to another over several kilometres of fibre optic cable.

The teams, working in the cities of Calgary in Canada and Hefei in China, used fiber optic networks already in existence to teleport information from one place to another, a feat which, until now, hadn't been achieved outside of a lab.

Quantum teleportation is never going to send humans instantaneously from one place to another – so don't start planning those long haul holidays. What it does offer is an extremely secure method of communication and encryption.

গুগল আপনাকে খুঁজে দেবে নতুন চাকরি

যারা নতুন চাকরি খুঁজছেন তাদের জন্য গুগল নিয়ে এলো নতুন টুল। গত বছর যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে উন্মোচিত হওয়া ‘গুগল ফর জবস’-এর উপর ভিত্তি করে নতুন এই টুল নিয়ে এসেছে গুগল।

এর ফলে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারীরা খুব সহজেই পেয়ে যাবেন নিজের পছন্দের চাকরি। মোবাইল ভার্সনে গুগল অ্যাপ ও ডেক্সটপ ভার্সনে গুগল সার্চের মাধ্যমে ব্যবহার করা যাবে এই নতুন টুল। দেশের সেরা জব পোর্টালগুলোর সঙ্গে বোঝাপড়া করে এই টুল ভারত, চীনসহ অন্যান্য দেশে উন্মোচন করেছে গুগুল। বাংলাদেশেও আসবে বলেও জানা গেছে।

নতুন এই ফিচারটি ব্যবহার করার জন্য আপনাকে গুগল গিয়ে লিখতে হবে ‘জবস নিয়ার মি’ অথবা ‘জবস ফর ফ্রেশার্স’ সার্চ করলেই দেখতে পাবেন চলে এসেছে জবস পোর্টাল ওবসাইটের লিস্ট এবং পছন্দমতো ফিল্টার ব্যবহার করে পেয়ে যাবেন পছন্দের চাকরি।

তা ছাড়াও এই টুলের আরেকটি অসাধারণ ফিচার রয়েছে যার মাধ্যমে আপনি আপনার চাকরির পছন্দের লিস্টগুলো বুকমার্ক করে রাখতে পারবেন এবং আরেকটি অসাধারণ ফিচার হচ্ছে এর মধ্যে আপনি জব প্রোফাইল, টাইটেল, লোকেশন, কোম্পানি টাইপ বিভিন্নভাবে ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন। এই ফিলটারগুলোকে ব্যবহার করে পছন্দের চাকরির আবেদন করে রাখতে পারবেন,যখন চাকরিটি প্রযোজ্য হবে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আপনাকে অবগত করা হবে।

যদিও আপনি গুগলের মাধ্যমে সরাসরি কোনো চাকরির জন্য অ্যাপ্লাই করতে পারবেন না। গুগল সার্চ থেকে আপনাকে পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হবে নির্দিষ্ট জব লিস্টিং ওয়েবসাইটে। বিভিন্ন ওয়েবসাইটে গিয়ে বারবার সার্চ করা থেকে গুগলের নতুন এই সার্চ টুল নিশ্চয়ই কাজে আসবে নতুন কাজের সন্ধানে থাকা ব্যক্তিদের। এ ছাড়াও খুব শিগগিরই সরকারি চাকরির খবরও পাওয়া যাবে গুগল সার্চের মাধ্যমে।

বৃষ্টি বা রোদ থেকে মুক্তি পেতে অনেকেই ছাতা ব্যবহার করে। আর এই ছাতা হারিয়ে ফেলার ঘটনা খুব সাধারন। তবে এখন থেকে আর ছাতা হারিয়ে ফেলার কোন সম্ভাবনা নেই।

নিউ ইয়র্ক ভিত্তিক স্টার্টআপ 'দাভেক' লাক্সারি ছাতা প্রস্তুতকারক হসাবে পরিচিত। আর তারা এবার নিয়ে আসছে ব্লুটুথ ছাতা। এই ছাতায় ব্লুটুথ চিপটি বেজের ভিতরে লুকানো অবস্থায় থাকবে। দূর্ঘটনাক্রমে কেউ ছাতাটি ভুলে ফেলে আসলে ব্লুটুথ ডিভাইসের মাধ্যমে ব্যবহারকারীকে সতর্কবার্তা দিবে। এটি অ্যান্ড্রয়েড এবং আইওএস ডিভাইসের সাথে অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে সিঙ্ক করবে। ফলে স্মার্টফোন এবং ছাতার মধ্যে দূরত্ব হলে তা ট্র্যাক করবে। যদি ছাতাটি ফোন থেকে ৩০ ফিট দূরে চলে যায় তাহলে ছাতা থেকে ফোনে সরাসরি মেসেজ পাঠাবে। এটিতে অ্যালার্ট ছাড়াও একটি ওয়েদার অ্যাপ থাকবে যেটি কোন দিন ছাতা নিয়ে বের হতে হবে তা বলে দিবে।

মার্কিন কেন্দ্রীয় বিমানচালনা প্রশাসন-এফএএ, ইন্টারনেটভিত্তিক শপিং জায়ান্ট অ্যামাজান ডট কম কে ক্রেতাদের কাছে পণ্য ডেলিভারির জন্য মিনি ড্রোন ব্যবহারের অনুমতি দিয়েছে।

ইন্টারনেট জায়ান্ট অ্যামাজান তাদের ড্রোন ডেলিভারি সেবার নাম দিয়েছে ‘প্রাইম এয়ার’। ২০১৩ সালের ডিসেম্বরে ড্রোনের মাধ্যমে পণ্য ডেলিভারির ঘোষণা দেয় প্রতিষ্ঠানটি। আর ২০১৪ সালের জুনে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ড্রোন ব্যবহার করে পণ্য পরিবহনের অনুমতি চেয়েছিল অ্যামাজন। মার্কিন কর্তৃপক্ষ জানিয়েছে অ্যামাজনের ড্রোনগুলো শুধু দিনের বেলা চলাচল করতে পারবে এবং ৪০০ ফুট বা তার কম উচ্চতায় ওড়ানো যাবে।

উল্লেখ্য, আপাতত যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ড্রোন ব্যবহারের অনুমতি পাওয়ার পর আরও কয়েকটি দেশে এ ধরনের সেবা চালু করার পরিকল্পনার কথা জানিয়েছে অ্যামাজন।

নিউ ইয়র্কের জনপ্রিয় জুতো প্রস্তুতকারক প্রতিষ্ঠান মিজ মোজ এনেছে সেলফি জুতো। এপ্রিল ফুল কৌতুক হিসাবে প্রতিষ্ঠানটি এধরণের জুতার প্রচারণা চালায়।



মিজ মোজের পক্ষ থেকে বলা হয়েছে, সেলফি-স্টিক ছাড়া যে সব ছবি তোলা হয় তা খুব একটা ভালো হয় না। আবার ভালো জায়গায় ভালো ছবি পাওয়ার জন্য স্টিক সব সময় সঙ্গে রাখাটাও ভালো দেখায় না। সেজন্য আনা হয়েছে সেলফি জুতো। এতে যে কোনো জায়গায় যখন খুশি তখন ছবি তোলা যাবে। আর ছবি তুলতে পায়ের আঙুল দিয়ে সেন্সরে চাপ দিলেই ছবি উঠবে।

While most of us are already aware of obvious keyboard shortcuts like “Alt+F4” and “Ctrl+C”, there are some obscure shortcuts which most of us tend to overlook. These keyboard shortcuts are not only useful for the average PC user but for advanced users as well. This article contains many such amazing keyboard shortcuts which if used properly could save a lot of time and effort. So let's get started.

Windows key+D: This shortcut is the keyboard equivalent of “Show the Desktop”. It is useful for quickly minimizing every open window when someone walks in and you are doing some private work.
Keyboard Shortcuts Windows

Ctrl+Shift+Esc: This shortcut directly starts the task manager. While Alt+Ctrl+Del was used to bring out the Task Manager in Windows XP and earlier versions, in Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7, it just brings up the lock this computer screen.

Ctrl+Click: This shortcut is useful for opening a link in a background tab. This is useful when you have to load a page without leaving the current one.

Alt+Print Screen: takes the screenshot of the current active window as opposed to just Print Screen which takes the screenshot of the entire screen.

Shift+Click for Yes to All and No to All: If you have a lot of dialog boxes asking yes and no question, just shift+click Yes or No on one to yes all or no all.

Ctrl+C: on an error dialog box to copy its contents: Suppose your computer is giving an error message and you want to copy its contents to send to the support guy, what do you do? Just press Ctrl+C while the dialog box is highlighted and its contents will be copied to your clipboard.

Ctrl+T: This keyboard shortcut opens a new tab in internet browsers.

Ctrl+Shift+T: Reopens the last closed tab.

Ctrl+Shift+N: This shortcut opens a new incognito window in Google Chrome.

Ctrl+Shift+P: Opens a new private window in Mozilla Firefox.

Alt+Enter after writing the domain name in the address bar of your browser to insert .com automatically.

Shift+Enter inserts .net domain name extension.

Ctrl+W: This shortcut closes the current tab in your browser quickly.

Ctrl+Backspace: This shortcut deletes the last word you have typed. It is useful in case you typed in a wrong word and want to delete it quickly.

Ctrl+Left or Right Arrow key: This shortcut allows you to move the cursor one word at a time instead of the default one character at a time.

Ctrl++: This shortcut allows you to zoom in web pages in web browsers. Useful when text on a web page is too small to read properly. Ctrl+Scroll wheel can also zoom in documents, file thumbnails and icons in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

Ctrl+-: This shortcut does the reverse of the previous shortcut.

Ctrl+0: Reset the webpage's zoom.

Windows key+M: Minimizes all the open windows.

Ctrl+L: This shortcut allows you to quickly jump to the address bar of your web browser.

Windows key+Pause/Break: Quickly open the system properties dialog box.

Ctrl+Shift+Delete: This shortcut opens the option to delete your browser's history, cookies, cache and other details that it stores while you browse the internet. This shortcut is extremely useful for the privacy conscious.

Windows Key+L: This shortcut locks your computer.

Ctrl+H: makes the history appear.

CTRL+B: Bold

CTRL+U: Underline

CTRL+I: Italic.

Alt+Select: This shortcut allows you to select rectangular blocks of text in Word processors, something that is not possible with simple select.

F2: Allows you to rename the selected file.

Holding Shift while inserting a device with removable storage prevents automatic run.

Ctrl+F: This keyboard shortcut opens the Find option in any program.

Ctrl+S: If you are working on a software and want to quickly save your progress, this shortcut will come in handy.


Ctrl+Home and Ctrl+End: Useful for quickly going to the top and bottom of a page.

Ctrl+P: Useful for printing the current page.

Space Bar: While viewing a web page in a browser, pressing space bar moves the page down.

Alt+Tab: Useful for quickly cycling between running applications. Press along with Shift to cycle backwards.

Ctrl+Tab: Cycle between tabs in your browser.

Ctrl+F5: Clears the cache and refreshes the current tab.

Shift+Right click: Open alternate right click options.

Alt+Double click: Open the file's properties. Alt+Enter can also be used for this.

You can use this trick to create a personal log with Notepad which will automatically include the current date and time before your note. To do so, open Notepad and type .LOG in capital letters and press Enter. Save the file. Now, every time you open this file, notepad will automatically insert the current time and date before the note. Just enter your note and save the file each time after making an entry.

All these Notepad tricks are totally harmless and would not harm your PC in any way.  To close any of the VBS trick given, open task manager and close the wscript.exe process. These tricks work on Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Faculty Sections / Files can be hidden insight pictures in Windows

In order to accomplish this task, you will need to have either WinZip or WinRAR installed on your computer. You can download either of these two off the Internet and use them without having to pay anything. Here are the steps for creating your hidden stash:

   

• Create a folder on your hard drive, i.e. C:\Test and put in all of the files that you want to hide into that folder. Also, place the image that you will be using to hide the files in.
  
  
• Now select all of the files that you want to hide, right-click on them, and choose the option to add them to a compressed ZIP or RAR file. Only select the files you want to hide, not the picture. Name it whatever you want, i,e. “Hidden.rar”.
  
  
  
• Now you should have a folder that looks something like this with files, a JPG image, and a compressed archive:
  
  
• Now here’s the fun part! Click on Start, and then click on Run. Type in “CMD” without the quotes and press Enter. You should now see the command prompt window open. Type in “CD \” to get to the root directory. Then type CD and the directory name that you created, i.e. “CD Test“.
  
  
• Now type in the following line: “copy /b DSC06578.JPG + Hidden.rar DSC06578.jpg” and press Enter. Do not use the quotes. You should get a response like below:
  
  

Just make sure that you check the file extension on the compressed file, whether it is .ZIP or .RAR as you have to type out the entire file name with extension in the command. I have heard that some people say that they have had problems doing this with a .ZIP extension, so if that doesn’t work, make sure to compress to a .RAR file. I also downloaded 7-zip and tried it with the .7z extension and it worked fine.

Note that in the command, I used the same name for the new picture (DSC06578), but you can give the new picture a different name if you like. The second instance of the picture name in the command is the name the new picture will get.

That’s about it! The picture file will have been updated with the compressed archive inside! You can actually check the file size of the picture and see that it has increased by the same amount as the size of the archive.

You can access your hidden file in two ways. Firstly, simply change the extension to .RAR and open the file using WinRAR. Secondly, you can just right-click on the JPG image and choose Open With and then scroll down to WinRAR. Either way, you’ll see your hidden files show up that you can then extract out.



So that is all it takes to hide files inside JPG picture files! It’s a great way simply because not many people know it’s possible and no one even thinks about a picture as having to the ability to “hide” files. The only ways for anyone to figure it out is if you tell them or they see your picture of a dog is 100MB in size, which might make them a bit curious.

Steps:

1. Open any Windows Explorer window and select Tools->Folder Options from the menu bar.

2. Select the 'View' tab. Then scroll down and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' is selected.

3. Click 'Apply', and 'OK', and now you will be able to see all hidden files on your computer, denoted with a transparent icon, rather than a fully opaque one.

Steps to hide file:

1. Select the folder or file you would like to hide, and right click on it.

2. Select 'Properties' from the pop-up menu that appears.

3. Check the 'Hidden' check box located in the Attributes section, then click on 'OK'.

4.  Right click on an empty space where the file or folder you chose to be hidden, and select 'Refresh' from the pop-up menu. If you have done the previous steps correctly, you will no longer see the file.
