Textile Engineering / Is Ego Really Important for Existence
« on: June 04, 2018, 10:31:37 AM »
Ego is insecure and often uncooperative as it is blamed for everything that goes wrong in our lives. It gets blamed anyway because we need a scapegoat for our shortcomings. We cannot just kill the ego and expect to be whole. The ego is an essential aspect of life which enables us to recognize ourselves as the unique individuals that each of us are. If we lose our individuality, we can never know what it means to be ONE. This essential part of our being deserves a much deeper understanding than we currently possess. We cannot understand our emotions, or our minds for that matter, while the ego remains so out of balance.

Imbalanced ego can originate from a variety of sources, the most common of which is misinformation that was ingrained in childhood. When the ego understands its own history, it can heal from it. But our egos cannot recognize our true selves if we are not true to ourselves – honest with ourselves. We lie to ourselves about a whole range of things. As we evolve into openness and honesty, that’s something else we have to recognize and stop doing.

Textile Engineering / Re: Deformed view about fitness.
« on: June 03, 2018, 03:42:43 PM »
Nice post Sir. I do agree to some extent .... I don't know whether it will be appropriate to say or not, but to me, having a desire of payback from doing good deeds to others is not a good option. We should do it spontaneously, for ourselves, for our existence, for our instinct.... I mean that's why the human race still exists.... But it is your generosity to share such valuable thinking to let us re-think about it.

Textile Engineering / Re: Characteristics of a leader
« on: June 03, 2018, 03:29:09 PM »
Important one. Thanks for sharing.
I want to add some....
There are several leadership styles, e.g., Autocratic, Democratic, Directive, Participative, laissez faire etc. But the point is that.... it is the most important thing for a leader to identify which style to apply in which environment. There is no good or bad leadership styles, rather it is just an instinct of the leader to get the pulse of the followers and environment of the organization.

Also there could be some styles of the leaders also, e.g., Visionary Leader, Charismatic Leader, Transformational Leader, Transactional Leader, Supportive Leader, inspirational Leader etc.

Every company has to deal with the fact that change will be needed at some point along the path to success, change is a constant and has become the new norm. Business owners must have the ability to bring upon continuous change smoothly, this requires the ability to manage relationships between the entire company, including components and resources. Here are some psychological aspects of Change and some tips on how to handle it:

1. Communicate Often:
• Most importantly, communicating often during the planning and implementation process of all the changes.
• Explaining the benefits of the changes.
• Ensuring that people understand how these changes will impact their role and job position.
• Preparing everyone for what could possibly come in the future.

2. Dispel Rumours and Increase Transparency:
• Answering any question with the honest truth and do not mislead or sugarcoat things.
• Dealing with concerns or problems immediately with a sharp focus on the bigger picture.
• Relating the need for change back to operational necessities.

3. Empower Action:
• Offering employees the chance to get involved as much as possible, this offers a great chance at individual and team building.
• Ensuring line managers are doing an effective job at managing all the day-to- day duties

4. Involve People in the Process:
• Taking short but successful steps.
• Negotiating with stakeholders to ensure that they should feel safe and comfortable.

There are also some disciplines to ensure the sustainability of change as given here:
1. Anchoring the Changes into the Culture:
•Identifying the barriers to sustaining change and also what supports the change.

2. Develop Ways to Sustain the Change:
•Ensuring support from the leadership.
•Creating a monitoring system that rewards good work and one that acknowledges steps forward.
•Developing a way to adapt the organizational structure if necessary.

3. Provide Support and Training:
•Ensuring transparency between all involved employees and people involved.
•Offering support where possible, change in a business is a continuous process that involves a lot of people - not just one.

4. Celebrating Success:
This is one part that many companies or leaders forget at times… to celebrate the success of what you have just achieved as a business! The great part about celebrating success is that it doesn’t always have to be costly, it has a lot of benefits to it and is a nice bonus for everyone that was involved. Some types of celebrations can be going out for dinner one night as a team, going go- karting or even simply just sitting down and conduct a team meeting which reviews the results that have been brought to the table.

Textile Engineering / The Aim of Education
« on: May 29, 2018, 10:43:27 AM »
Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Today earning money has become the only purpose of education and we really don't care about. So the question is, what really are  the aims of education? Let me keep it real simple for this one,
   - Education gives us the ability to differentiate between what is right and wrong, what is immoral and moral & what is just and unjust.
    - Education gives a person hope to solve the problems humanity faces today.
    - Education gives you the power to question anything wrong.
    - Education helps you learn the right way to execute yourself and behave positively.
    - Education helps you find the truth and it forces you to think in different aspects.
    - Proper education removes ill beliefs.
    - It makes you more aware and confident.

The aim/purpose of education is to grow children into productive citizens that use their knowledge, talents, and learned skills to sustain themselves and help others while pushing the human race forward in areas of equality, equity, and harmony. So before going to educate your children or sending your children for schooling, let them know it all. Otherwise I am afraid that we are going to have a human race of empty head of no humanity and imagination. Because...
"The aim of education is the knowledge, not of facts, but of values." - William S. Burroughs

Textile Engineering / ‘Project Jacquard’ of Google and Levi’s
« on: May 29, 2018, 10:25:32 AM »
Have you ever dreamt of a jacket that will let you navigate through the traffic and at the same time make you look attractive? Or, Have you always wanted a smartwatch but don’t want to wear a watch? How about a vibrating denim jacket that connects to the internet? Wait! You don’t have to let your imagination fly anymore as Google Jacquard brings it to reality.
Google Jacquard, a division within the company’s Advanced Technology and Projects or ATAP group in partnership with Levi’s approaches wearable technology such as Trucker Jacket for urban bike commuters. This jacket allows you to use your smartphone and utilize mobile services at the difficulty of using it such as while you are riding on your cycle. With a swipe of your sleeve, it will let you:
 - Navigate your city
 - Connect to your surroundings
 - Communicate with ease

[embed=425,349]<iframe width="560" height="315" src="
" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>[/embed]
The jacket includes a “smart tag”, which is basically a smartwatch without the watch: it lights up in various colors, vibrates when receiving notifications, can be tapped to issue commands, and is the hub of the jacket. But the sleeve itself is also touch sensitive. Simply stroke your arm to control your smartphone – that’s the fancy Jacquard fabric in action.
This wearable tech will be less cumbersome to handle and also have no negative impact on your well-being. This smart jacket will cost around only $350 when it goes on sale which will be first commercial product of Google’s ATAP group coming out this fall. It can only be washed 10 times.

I wish we could realize the real meaning of education. Many many thanks for sharing, Sir.
