The concept Green Engineering is getting maximum priority, so why should't in textile engineering.

if you are interested to do project/thesis, you are welcome

some important facts to share with cotton world.
the use of cotton is less than polyester does not mean that the cotton is losing its its market. please be informed that the the cultivation land is not increasing but decreasing while population is increasing more than expectation.
so you have to look inside the use of cotton against production. polyester is man-made fiber and its raw materials are very easily available (petroleum).
please note that cotton is the king of kings of textile fibers, since the inception of fibers. believe me or not no fiber in coming centuries replace cotton. but the importance of cotton will increase, but may be production reduce, due to save the environment, and converting traditional methods into organic one.

price increase of cotton fibers is not concern but the concern is unscrupulous middle-men are making huge money while original growers of cotton are not getting their fair wages against their hard labors. there are many more international buyers who are always ready to pay higher price than market, but based on one condition that is the extra money should be paid to the growers of cotton. to ensure the right, we have created third party label name 'Fair for Life' (Fair Trade).
one important point to note that in future cotton will be become luxury of textile.

to know details in this matter you can have personal conversation or may ask for lectures or seminar. i always welcome this

talk about our formal textile sector and informal textile sector. you all know that formal textile sector is a 4 million employment sector, while do you know about the informal textile sector which also contribute more than our expectation, but real figure still missing in Bangladesh statistic reports. the reason, they have never been given so importance. I like to offer BSc/MSc textile graduates to work over it as project or thesis work. interested students can contact me.

Most of us are talking about giving more importance to technical textile or new fields in the modern textile sector. I am not sure how much can we gain in the competitive world of technology and investment where giants are fighting with each other.
but i am sure that if we the textile engineers, educators, experts and investors take initiative to bring back our traditional textile production and can earn more than our expectation in the global market. look the the neighbor India that is the world's largest exporter of handloom fabric and its diversified products.

lets think about it and put your valuable contribution to the topic.

What I think in this regard?

major subjects play vital role for building career, this is not all. what i believe,  to complete a course (as for example BSc in TE) a major subject is must for TE in Bangladesh. but along this, what are most important: ---
final year activities should be busy in attending relevant seminar, workshops, discussion with experts, researchers and academia. it is also primary duties of students to search relevant people/experts/scientists/researchers and bring them with the help of university authority or faculty.

plus, students should visit all the fairs and exhibitions that take place in Bangladesh. hand loom fairs are also important to attend.

this kind of activities also include marks for the students.

in this regard, i would like to include that it is important to change eduction system on textile engineering, the engineering we are teaching that will only let our students to do traditional activities in textile and clothing sector.

I am really appreciate your topic. I also believe that this topic is not only most important for BSc and MSc textile engineering students, but also for every steam.

before, appreciate you, i would like to give thanks to our teacher, Prof. Dr. Gerrit Heinemann, Chairman of Department of Textile-clothing Management and Trade, Niederrhein University, Germany. Dr. Heinemann is one of the best known bosses in the world for his contribution in this aspects who was also interviewed by Google Inc, by Deutsche Bank.

but i am afraid this topic may not get acceleration if any appropriate means are not used to create awareness.  I therefore request you to take initiative to this regard, and arrange workshop for MSc textile engineering students for DIU and others.

there is no doubt that we all welcome the position of RGM sector of Bangladesh with enthusiasm and encouragement. we are are happy and proud to get this position.

i especially like to go for value analysis of this contribution in the following aspects:

-what is the actual gain in terms of money for Bangladesh economy?
- what are the environmental and health loss in terms of money?
-What can be done to minimize the losses occurred?
-what should we do (make promise) to stop this losses?

along with these, we should use 'Eco-metric' to calculate losses in:
land, etc.

lets start discussion these matter with references.

Let us summarize our feeling, enthusiasm, comments, and the ways of celebrating the Eid. I believe that if all of you contribute from your mind and soul, the Eid will itself prove the best festival in the world.

Lets enrich the event from your heart and soul.

Dear Tanvir,

As far as i know there is no difference between two terms apparel and clothing. but are bearing same meaning. and as far i realize from reading articles and news from America and Europe that Europe use clothing terms more intensively while American use apparel terms for the same meaning.

Corporate Social Responsibility is though a voluntary activities, while it should be must to every players and actors who are playing small to big roles, means earning small to huge from textile business. but what should be their responsibilities, we try to mark them out.

therefore, who are dealing with CSR, or got knowledge from their experiences should contribute here, which would be useful those are new in this issue.

Lets consider the complex production processes of clothing manufacturing (yarn to finished goods), try to calculate of the clothing industry to our economy:
-some say clothing industry has positive impact to our economy, while
rest show logic considering Eco-metrics parameters that the industry has negative impacts in long run:

lets talk about this issues

lets try to know what is clothing and what is garments

clothing or apparel is a body covering sheet made of cloth (could be woven or knitted), but a garments is also body covering sheet but could be made of textile/cloth, leather, made made polymer sheet.

think on few examples, like

a tee shirt
a shoe
a wait belt
a wallet
a goggle
a leather jacket

and then try to categorize them

apparel is a branch of garment,

if you are still confuse to recognize the similarities and dissimilarities, then you are requested to ....

four pillars of Eco-metrics are:
Use of non-renewable resources

Now, try to now what is eco-metrics?

i will let you know latter.
