কর্মক্ষেত্রে সহায়ক কয়েকটি অ্যাপ

মোবাইল অ্যাপের দুনিয়া আগের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি বিস্তৃত হচ্ছে। এখন শুধু সেলফি এডিট করাতেই অ্যাপ ব্যবহার থেমে নেই। কর্মক্ষেত্রেও এখন এর ব্যবহার বেড়েছে। সহকর্মীদের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ বা কাজের সুবিধার ক্ষেত্রে সহায়ক এমনই চারটি অ্যাপ নিয়ে থাকছে আজকের আয়োজন।

১. ওয়ান পাসওয়ার্ড

প্রতিটি অ্যাকাউন্টের নিশ্চিত করবে ওয়ান পাসওয়ার্ড। অ্যাকাউন্ট খোলার পর ওয়ান পাসওয়ার্ডে প্রবেশ করতে ফিঙ্গারপ্রিন্টের প্রয়োজন হবে। এই অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে পাসওয়ার্ড, ড্রাইভিং লাইসেন্স, পরিচয়পত্র, ডেবিট ও ক্রেডিট কার্ড সেভ করা যাবে।

২. স্লাক

যারা সফটওয়্যার ডেভেলপ করেন তাদের জন্য অ্যাসেমব্লা খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি আইওএস অ্যাপ। প্রজেক্ট ম্যানেজমেন্ট সিস্টেম অ্যাপটি ডেভেলপাররা ব্যবহার করেন মূলত কোড আর টাস্কের মধ্যে সমন্বয় ঘটাতে। এতে টাস্কের অগ্রগতি, ক্লায়েন্ট ও টার্গেট সম্পর্কিত তথ্য সেভ করার সুবিধা রয়েছে। আইফোন কিংবা আইপ্যাড থেকেই টাস্কের টিকিট তৈরি ও আপডেট করা যাবে।

৪. ইনভিশন

জনপ্রিয় ১০ অ্যাপের ৬টিই ফেইসবুকের, শীর্ষে হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ

বিশ্বে সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় অ্যান্ড্রয়েড অ্যাপের তালিকায় আধিপত্য রেখেছে ফেইসবুক। শীর্ষ ১০ তালিকার ৬টিই ফেইসবুক ও এর অধিগ্রহণ করা সেবাগুলোর। তবে ওই তালিকায় একেবারে শীর্ষে হয়েছে হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ।

বাজার গবেষণাকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান স্টাটিস্টা ডটকম প্রিওরি ডেটার জরিপ তথ্যে অ্যাপগুলোর এই অবস্থানের কথা জানিয়েছে।  চলতি বছরের জুনে করা জরিপ ডেটায় এই  তালিকা করা হয়েছে।

এতে দেখা যায়, শীর্ষে থাকা হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ ওই এক মাসে প্লেস্টোর হতে প্রায় ৯৬ দশমিক ৩০ মিলিয়ন ডাউনলোড হয়েছে।দ্বিতীয় ও তৃতীয় স্থানে থাকা ম্যাসেঞ্জার ও ফেইসবুক অ্যাপ যথাক্রমে ৭৫ দশমিক ৬৭ এবং ৩৯ দশমিক ৯৩ মিলিয়ন ডাউনলোড হয়েছে।

এছাড়া সপ্তম ও দশম স্থানে থাকা ফেইসবুক লাইট ও ম্যাসেঞ্জার লাইট যথাক্রমে ২৮ দশমিক ২৬ এবং ১০ দশমিক ৫২ মিলিয়ন ডাউনলোড হয়েছে।

চতুর্থ স্থানে রয়েছে ছবি শেয়ারিং প্লাটফর্ম ইন্সটাগ্রাম। এটি একই সময়ে ৩৫ দশমিক ৭২ মিলিয়ন ডাউনলোড করা হয়েছে।

ষষ্ঠ স্থানে রয়েছে ভিডিও শেয়ারিং সেবা স্ন্যাপচ্যাট।

এছাড়া ফিডগেট স্পিনার ২২ দশমিক ৮০ মিলিয়ন ডাউনলোড নিয়ে পঞ্চম স্থানে রয়েছে।

Germany Powers Up The World’s Largest “Artificial Sun”

Germany is one of the few countries that has majorly contributed to science and technology be it physics and chemistry to cars and consumer products. While Germany may be a world leader in innovation, boasting leading universities and research institutes alongside major engineering, IT and manufacturing industries, it isn’t exactly known for its year-round sunshine.

As a result, solar panels line Germany’s residential rooftops and top its low-slung barns. Also, more than twenty-two percent of Germany’s power is generated with renewables, of which close to quarter of that is provided by solar.

Now, German scientists are testing what they term as “the world’s largest artificial sun,” which they hope can make way for producing hydrogen to use as a green fuel in the future.

“Synlight” – a three storey electrically powered sun-lamp – constructed by the German Space Center (DLR) is being tested in Julich, a town located 30 kilometers (19 miles) west of Cologne. The Synlight experiment uses 149 xenon short-arc lamps normally found in cinemas to recreate the light from the Sun onto a single point, vaporizing water and producing hydrogen and oxygen. Each lamp claims producing roughly 4,000 times the wattage of the average light bulb. When this artificial sun is switched on, it produces an equivalent of 10,000 times the amount of solar radiation as intense as natural sunlight on Earth.

When all the lamps are swiveled to concentrate light on a single spot, the instrument can generate temperatures of around 3,500 degrees Celsius, which is around two to three times the temperature of a blast furnace.

“If you went in the room when it was switched on, you’d burn directly,” said Prof Bernard Hoffschmidt, a research director at the DLR.

According to DLR, these extremely high temperatures are necessary to carry out research on processes that use the Sun to produce solar fuels like hydrogen. Although hydrogen is considered by many as the green fuel of the future, as it produces no carbon emissions, producing it requires huge amounts of energy, which generally comes from burning fossil fuels.

Synlight itself consumes a large amount of energy. However, Hoffschmidt said that “In four hours the system uses about as much electricity as a four-person household in a year. Our goal is to eventually use actual sunlight to make hydrogen, rather than artificial light.”

While the DLR researchers have already accomplished splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using the Sun in the laboratory, however, it has a long way to go to be scaled up for commercial use.

“I think commercial use will only really be possible when societies and governments realize that we cannot burn any more fossil fuels,” Hoffschmidt said.

স্মার্টফোন, স্মার্টটিভি, স্মার্টফ্রিজ, এমন কি স্মার্ট জ্যাকেটসহ আরও অনেক গ্যাজেটেই ফোন যুক্ত করে সেটি নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা যাচ্ছে। প্রযুক্তি প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর কারিশমায় সব কিছুই স্মার্ট হয়ে উঠছে।

তবে কিছুদিন আগে পর্যন্তও দৈনন্দিন ইলেক্ট্রনিকস যেমন- ফ্যান বা লাইটে এ সুবিধা ছিল না। ফিলিপস তাদের হিউ লাইটগুলোর মাধ্যমে নতুন যুগের সূচনা করে।

বাতির রঙ, কালার টেম্পারেচার ও ব্রাইটনেস বদলের সুবিধা মূলত জীবনকে সহজ করার জন্যই তৈরি করা হয়েছে। সঠিক রঙ, হোয়াইট ব্যালেন্স ও ব্রাইটনেস চোখের ওপর চাপ কমাতে সাহায্য করে।

গঠন

নাট ডিভাইসটি ব্যবহার করতে হলে প্রথমেই ফোনে সেটির অ্যাপ্লিকেশন ডাউনলোড করে নিতে হবে। ডাউনলোড হয়ে যাবার পর সেটির মাধ্যমে ডিভাইসটি পেয়ার করে নেবার পর আর কোনও কাজ নেই।

মাস্টারকার্ড সিস্টেমে এবার অ্যাড হলো ফিঙ্গারপ্রিন্ট সেন্সর। এখন থেকে কার্ড চুরি হয়ে গেলেও আর কোনও ভয় নেই।  দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকায় মাস্টারকার্ডে এই টেকনোলজি দু’টির সফল পরীক্ষা চালানোর পর আত্মপ্রকাশ করতে চলেছে এটি।  জানা গিয়েছে, টাকা পয়সা লেনদেনের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত মোবাইলের মতোই কাজ করবে এই কার্ডটি।  জিনিস কেনাকাটার সময় ইউজারদের সেন্সরের উপর আঙুল রাখতে হবে।  যার ফলে কার্ড থাকবে অনেক বেশি সুরক্ষিত।  এছাড়া কার্ডটি টার্মিনালের ইলেক্ট্রিসিটি ব্যবহার করবে, ফলে এর নিজস্ব ব্যাটারির প্রয়োজন হবে না।  এ ব্যাপারে বিশেষজ্ঞরা জানিয়েছেন, যদিও এই কার্ড-ব্যবস্থা বায়োমেট্রিক প্রযুক্তির বিচক্ষণ প্রয়োগ।

Now you can send money internationally through Facebook Messenger

Sending money on Facebook is finally international.

A new bot released on Facebook Messenger on Sunday lets users send money to and from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia or Europe.

Powered by Transfer Wise, the bot completes money transfers and guides users through the process.

Transfer Wise customers on the company's own app already send and receive almost $1 billion a month. The app boasts that it allows transfers without the usual fees charged by banks or hidden in exchange rates. Instead, Transfer Wise uses the current exchange rate and charges an upfront fee, usually based on 1 percent or so of the money being transferred.

Transfer Wise's app allows customers to send money in plenty of other currencies outside North America and Europe, but its selection of currencies available on Facebook Messenger will be more limited.

Along with sending money, the Facebook bot will notify users about changing exchange rates and send alerts when it's a particularly good time to exchange a currency.

Facebook has allowed users to send each other money through Messenger for several months, but only domestically. Transfer Wise's bot will be the first to facilitate international money transfers. That's a big deal — even Venmo is limited outside the United States.

“Our mission at Transfer Wise is to bring faster, cheaper, and more convenient international money transfers to everyone in the world. Building the Transfer Wise bot for Messenger is a great step in that direction," Transfer Wise Head of Global Partnerships Scott Miller said in a statement. "It’s also a powerful example of how our API can be used to seamlessly integrate Transfer Wise into almost any messaging, bank or business payment system.”

Facebook and Transfer Wise have been linked before — most notably in rumors that the social network would buy the fin tech startup. No acquisition yet, but a bot is a promising start.
