A freaky natural phenomenon at Yamba Beach, Australia. It’ seems as if someone had poured tons of coffee and milk into the ocean, then switched on a giant blender. Bizarre, yes? Scientists explain that the foam is created by impurities in the ocean, such as salts, chemicals, dead plants, decomposed fish and excretions from seaweed.

The rock formations of Pamukkale are a series of natural shelves and ridges, terraces that have been turned white from the solidified chalky calcium deposit sleft behind as the thermal waters tumble into further basins clinging to the cliff edge below. These impressive mineral hot springs are somewhat similar to the Mamoth Hot Springs in Yellostone Ntl Park, but those are much bigger and more impressive. There you are welcome to take a bath in the various natural ponds. The first thing you will see is a rock platform over 100 m in height rising up from the plain. The slopes of this hill, which look from a distance like a great white speck, are covered with large numbers of pools and terraces. As you come nearer, you will begin to see this natural phenomenon, which resembles a frozen waterfall, in greater detail.

Photographed 12/17 about midday after a cold front had moved through the day before. Local weatherman said it was caused by an airplane descending through the cloud layer. He called it a "punch thru". He said the heat from the plane engines cleared the area causing the hole and then the currents created by the airplane pulled the clouds down as well. Another meteorologist said it was a natural occurrence, but rare. I would like to know for sure. Husband called me from work and I grabbed my camera. Whether it was man-made or natural, it was very interesting to see. This shot taken -- facing north, weather pattern at about 10oclock with the whole system moving west to east.
