Title: Types of Court Cases in Bangladesh
Post by: Shamim Ansary on May 25, 2010, 12:16:27 PM
The four basic types of court cases are civil, criminal, juvenile, and traffic.

1) A civil case is a disagreement between two or more people or businesses. Examples of a civil case include disputes between a landlord and tenant, divorce actions, small claims cases, and a case where one person is suing another for damages.

2) A criminal case involves a person who has been accused of committing either a misdemeanor or a felony offense.

3) Generally, a juvenile case usually involves a minor who is under the age of seventeen. Juvenile cases are heard by the family division of the circuit court. The three types of juvenile cases are juvenile delinquency cases, child protective hearings and traffic cases.

4) Finally, the most common type of court case is related to a traffic violation. A traffic violation may be either a civil infraction or a misdemeanor.

Regarding traffic, there is no different types of court in Bangladesh as far as I know. There are other types of courts here in Bangladesh such as, family courts, special courts, various tribunals, but generally they are two types in terms of the nature of the act committed, that is, civil and criminal.
