This is mainly for our students as they have to give a presentation in every semester. Keep in mind that, when you are presenting in front of an audience, you are performing as an actor on a stage. Appropriate dress for the occasion is a factor that counts. It represents the desired image to your audience. Look pleasant, enthusiastic, and confident. Remain calm and relax. Don’t feel nervous. Speak slowly, enunciate clearly, and show appropriate emotion and feeling relating to your topic. Speak to the person farthest away from you to ensure your voice is loud enough to project to the back of the room. If a microphone is available, adjust and adapt your voice accordingly. Know your material thoroughly. Put what you have to say in a logical sequence. Ensure your speech will be captivating to your audience as well as worth their time and attention. Practice and rehearse your speech at home or where you can be at ease and comfortable, in front of a mirror, your family, friends or colleagues. Know what your strong and weak points are. Emphasize your strong points during your presentation. Don’t get upset while answering questions. If you do not know anything, never act that you know it. You may not know everything. That is natural. Have patience. Go ahead. Time is a major factor; don’t waste your time by unnecessary means. Finishing a thing within time is also important. Be aware that your lecture is not boring. Try to put it in a natural way with variety.

Your eyes contact should be to the audience and your mind should be about your topic which you are presenting. If you forget anything that you want to speck, don’t stops (trying to re-call) rather try to continue from the next part. Be confident so that your audience may understand that you are well known about what you are specking.

Presentation skills are pivotal for both the teachers and students. I do firmly believe that this nice piece of writing will serve the purpose of the concerned fruitfully. Using power-point/multimedia has now become an integral part of THE presentations. Here is the link of one of my submissions regarding the making of an excellent power-point presentations.
