Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MoPT) is pleased to announce a competition for students of Universities in Bangladesh to celebrate the day. The competition will be on innovative projects to be proposed and implemented by the students.
The competition will be in two phases:
1. Proposal phase: A concrete proposal of a project on improving road safety using ICTs has to be submitted as per the following guidelines. A jury panel will select some of the submitted proposals based on their merits from the perspectives of both novelty and applicability. Authors of the selected proposals need to present a poster or demo on May 17, 2013 in Bangabandhu International Conference Center.
2. Implementation phase: The selected proposals will enter the second phase, for a real life demo. Again, a jury panel will select top three from the implemented projects based on their merits from different perspectives such as comprehensiveness, cost-effectiveness and socio-economic perspectives of our country. These top projects will be awarded as follows:
Champion: 100,000 BDT
First runner-up: 60,000 BDT
Second runner-up: 40,000 BDT
Prospective participants are requested to visit ‘www.bsccl.com/hackathon’ for registration and submission of the Project Proposal. Participants may also send their proposal through email (wtisd@bsccl.com).
