Title: Ancelotti ´certain´ of Ronaldo deal
Post by: russellmitu on August 08, 2013, 02:23:52 PM
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is "certain" that Cristiano Ronaldo will sign a new deal with the club.

The Portuguese winger is entering the final year of his contract and has been linked with a return to former club Manchester United.

However, Ancelotti is confident that a deal can be agreed to keep hold of the 28-year-old.

"The player wants to renew his contract and the club want him to renew it too, so I don't think it's going to be a problem," Ancelotti was quoted as saying by AS.

"I think Cristiano and the club are relaxed about the issue. I don't know when it will happen, but I am certain that Cristiano is going to renew his contract with Madrid."

Despite continued speculation around the potential transfer of Tottenham winger Gareth Bale, Ancelotti was not ready to discuss any further details on the chase for the Welshman, at the risk of angering his opposite number, Andre Villas-Boas.

"I'm not talking about him because Villas-Boas got angry and I don’t like for a coach to get angry," Ancelotti said.

"I didn't say anything in particular and I have a good relationship with Villas-Boas.

"I'm happy with my team and my players. We have a young, good, and strong team. I'm also satisfied because we have worked well, the injured players have gotten better, and we haven’t had any other injuries in this period."

Real are preparing for Thursday's International Champions Cup final against Chelsea, managed by former boss Jose Mourinho.
