Title: The Use Of Infrared Heating In Textile Finishing
Post by: shimo on September 08, 2013, 07:50:27 PM
When a body is heated beyond a certain temperature , its color becomes first peep red and lights up as it is heated on. The emitted radiation can not be perceived by the human eye . Yet it exists, it is the infrared.
Infrared heating is a form of radiant heating. Radiant energy is not absorbed  by air and does not actually become heat until an object absorbs it. Infrared radiation is typically divided into three different wavelength categories:
short, medium, and long.
IR heating works on the principle that every object with a temperature above absolute zero  emits infrared energy. The object that radiates heat is called the emitting source and the object to which it radiates heat (that has lesser amount of heat content) is called the target or workpiece .

Use of IR in Textiles:
1. IR transfers high heating power quickly.
2. Reduce energy consumption.
3. Increase production speeds.
4. Lower production costs etc.

IR heating is very useful & efficient heating system providing even & prompt dried to the textile substrate
