Post by: sarwarmhaque on November 23, 2013, 07:29:05 PM
A student using the online nickname “Nerdo” was jailed yesterday along with another self-styled “hacktivist” for carrying out cyber attacks that cost a website £3.5 million.

Christopher Weatherhead, 22, and Ashley Rhodes, 28, were both found guilty of conspiring to impair operation of computers between August 1, 2010, and January 22, 2011.

Weatherhead was sentenced to 18 months behind bars, and Rhodes was jailed for seven months.

Weatherhead was found guilty in December last year after he took part in distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, one of which cost the payment website PayPal £3.5 million.
