1. If you multiply nine by any whole number (except zero), and repeatedly add the digits of the answer until it's just one digit, you will end up with nine:
2 × 9 = 18 (1 + 8 = 9)
3 × 9 = 27 (2 + 7 = 9)
9 × 9 = 81 (8 + 1 = 9)
121 × 9 = 1089 (1 + 0 + 8 + 9 = 18; 1 + 8 = 9)
234 × 9 = 2106 (2 + 1 + 0 + 6 = 9)
578329 × 9 = 5204961 (5 + 2 + 0 + 4 + 9 + 6 + 1 = 27 (2 + 7 = 9))
482729235601 × 9 = 4344563120409 (4 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 0 + 4 + 0 + 9 = 45 (4 + 5 = 9))
(Exception) 0 x 9 = 0 (0 is not equal to 9)
2. The sum of the digits of the number added to 9 is always equal to the sum of the digits of the result. Take any four digit number and try the trick. Ex: 9 + 17 = 26. 1 + 7 = 8 & 2 + 6 = 8
3. Nine judges sit on the United States Supreme Court.
5.A standard work day of 9 to 5 begins at 9 a.m.

So interesting!

Well, I am so poor at maths that even I get mental blockage at this simple kind of equations!
I need to subtract 280 from 500, to see if the change returned to me by the CNG driver is correct or not. :P
-
Wao! What an equation!
Hahhhaa.......:) Tahsina Apu. May be because you run all the time and are busy with so many things. MashAllah

I am always very poor at Math. But you know I have to teach my son every evening. Then one evening I found time table of 9 is really interesting. Then I started searching on net and came to know about many facts of 9.

Shampa & Rabeya,
In general, do you agree with the fact that students of Humanities are poor at Mathematics? I have heard it often. And may be this prejudiced idea had its root in my mind... I do have a mental block about math!
Confused Tahsina

Tahsina Apu
I agree. Although I had pure science till university, all these years spent till in Humanities made me weaker in mathematics.
-
This is just a prejudiced, apu.
-
I read your post with great interest last night.But...... My daughter made me understand the thing. ::)
-
Irina apu,
This generation is really very smart and prompt. Though I post this, even some facts sound very confusing to me.

I got A+ both in Higher Math and general Math in SSC and HSC, still I think I am very weak in math...my mates used to take help about English from me where I took about math from them.. it was a reciprocal relationship, thanks God! I didn't have to continue that for long time!
-
Rafi,
I also thanked God from the core of my heart. You know I passed in maths means I passed the exam.So scaring!!! But irony is that every evening, I have to teach my son maths, along with other subjects.
