In our current study, heavy metal content herbal medicines available in Bangladesh using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) has been conducted where digested samples were aspired through nebulizer and the absorbance was measured with a blank as reference. Six metals, Cu, Cd, Cr, Mn, Pb and Zn were found in the herbal medicines. Abstracts and full paper will be available soon after publication.

Are all these metals bad for health? What is the level of absorption that human body can tolerate?

If the metals exceed safe range  then exerts adverse effect on human body and the range above which the metals are considered to be harmful is determined by certain regulatory organization like WHO.
