WARMTH
When I am near you
when I look in your clear face,
talk to you in an animated way
and explore the vanities of life
with amazement and awe,
when I feel your gentle
and protecting hand,
when I read your thoughts,
when I lose myself in our
universe,
when I breathe with you,
move with you,
when I lay aside
all the dark shadows of fate,
and when I am you
and you are me,
when our worlds
join together as one,
then space is open
and limitless
then time stops
for an imperishably long
moment,
then this warmth embraces all,
then I begin
neither more nor less,
then I begin to live

I met Tobias first time in a seminar program at Jahangirnagar University. The inspiring and astonishing words compelled us to think of the contemporary literature with a special focus on the poems concentrating on human and moral issues. We had a lovely discussion and question-answer session in our department the whole day and fortunately got the chance to collect the poem in a string with the author's signature. :)
