Title: "World Most Successful Countries"
Post by: sozib on October 28, 2010, 10:05:13 AM
I would like to inform you that Bangladesh has slipped nine places to 96th on a list of the world's most successful countries, mainly due to lower performances in education, personal freedom, health, and safety and security.

The country stood 87th in the 2009 ranking of Prosperity Index, a survey of the Legatum Institute, a London-based international think tank. The survey was posted on line Tuesday.

The index has crowned Norway in the first place, followed by Denmark in the second and Finland third. Last year's bottom-placed Zimbabwe came last also in this year's ranking.

The survey has covered 90 percent of the world's population, taking into account factors that contribute to the overall prosperity -- such as education standards, health, personal freedom, safety, security and democracy.

Now, I looking forward some command and advise  from our forum members which will help Bangladesh to enhance the performance for next year.

Bangladesh has experienced steady economic growth at a rate of approximately five percent annually during the past decade. Manufacturing of ready-made garments provides employment for over 2 million people, many of them women, and generates nearly 75 percent of the export earnings of the country. The discovery of substantial reserves of natural gas in Bangladesh could significantly boost the country's economy and the people's well-being if the reserves are managed carefully.

If we discover in one very fine morning that all of us have become honest and industrious only then I think, we shall be able to get the crown of success.
