Title: Are you a jaywalker?

The habit of crossing the road here and there in the city must be stopped at any cost. The jaywalkers are not aware of the danger they will face.The term jaywalking actually covers a multitude of pedestrian who are extremely unwilling to obey the rule or law. Jaywalking can be considered as a minor crime if a police officer considers the pedestrian's actions to be a deliberate violation of an existing rule. Otherwise, the officer may choose to issue a stern warning against future infractions.
Jaywalking can be a very hazardous practice for pedestrians and drivers as well. Drivers may anticipate other drivers returning to their parked vehicles, but they may not be prepared for pedestrians suddenly crossing the street between those parked cars. Even if the traffic conditions are slow in one direction of traffic, a jaywalker may find himself or herself trapped in the middle of the street when vehicles appear in the opposite lane.
So it is wise to  use the footbridge and zebra crossing. Be safe and sound.

Thank You Irina Madam for raising such an important but very much neglected(by the pedestrian) issue of jaywalking. Let us make it clear what is jay walking? Jaywalking means to walk along or across a street illegally or without paying attention to the traffic.Now, any one will find him/ her doing this jaywalking. Most of the time we cross the road talking over mobile phone or listening to the music or FM radio or absent mindedly and any one of these may bring disaster for the pedestrian. So for the sake of own safety we need to be cautious.

Thank you Irina madam for pointing out such a crucial but neglected issue.I would like to add one tips,ie.if you are a Jaywalker,while crossing the road,just think of your dear ones for whom your living is very important-it will definitely make you more conscious...

It is a very important post since one of the Daffodil Students(HRIDOY uttara campus) was victim of road accident in this Eid vacation.
We all must be alert regarding using the road.

Thanks Ms Irina Ishrat madam for this useful post. It is upsetting to see that we are not accustomed to sue over bridge but at the same time we don't have sufficient over bridges.

Thanks Madam for highlighting this important issue. Really we should be more cautious while crossing the road and should avoid using mobile at that time. Also we should not be absent-minded while crossing.
