Title: The Sun Earth System
Post by: Anuz on April 20, 2016, 12:34:16 PM
The Sun and the Earth revolve around their common center of mass in one year, although the orbits are elliptical and the Earth is inclined to the ecliptic. The mean distance between the Sun and the Earth is about 92,897,400 miles. The center of mass of the Sun-Earth system is located about 280 miles (mean) from the center of the Sun. Therefore, it might be easier to visualize the Sun as wobbling around this point.
