According to my observation: Students who gets F grade in a course (while some of his class mates getting A+) have problems other than academic problems.
Classes of all of the courses are held regularly according to the class routine.
More over lecture sheets are given to the students regularly.
Teachers also discuss all of the topics regularly in the classes.
What they have to do is attend the classes attentively and study the materials regularly.
If a student fails it means he has not studied his class materials. We can assume that if a student fails - they have problem with their day to day schedule. Like waking up late in the morning or more engaged in activities other than academic etc.
Again a student may have been sick. For this a student may not be able to study. Which has led him to obtain a F grade.
To overcome the non-academic problems a students should have a regular schedule in his personal life. He has to allocate sufficient time to study at home. (Outside the classes)
He should have a better schedule in his day to day life. For example if a student wakes up early in the morning he will be able to attend his scheduled classes on time, all day long.
He should also have a regular schedule for studying outside the class time.
According to my opinion: If a student follows a regular schedule, allocating sufficient time for studying then it will be difficult for him to fail.

The worst part is that, obtaining an 'F' grade, also makes the particular student upset about life and a continuous F grade at some point makes him/her more out of the academic life. S/he starts avoiding study in greater extent. S/he even starts chaos in personal life. This is really sad for us to experience these sort of events every now and then...

To avoid getting a F grade a student should concentrate to study. This is the only way to avoid chaos in life.

Sometimes students do not fulfill prerequisites. Science and engineering topics are designed sequentially. When someone fails to get the linkage between items covered, he cannot comprehend the subject and feels bored in lectures. For example, I found a student who didn't understand the angular relation of friction force. Later on I discovered that he didn't know the basic knowledge of geometry taught in school level. He did not know that sum of the angles of a triangle equals two right angles i.e., 180 degree. If fundamental items are being covered in the class, I won't have time to cover syllabus contents. If students let us know that they have problems in understanding/ coping with, I can help/ counsel them overcoming their difficulties. But, unfortunately in most cases they feel shy or think this teacher is not suitable for them. Because, good grade not learning is the objective for most of them.
