Title: Who is a teacher?
Post by: shibli on July 16, 2009, 12:56:22 PM

Teaching means spreading knowledge and information. One can only teach well if s/he comes down to the student's level. His/her faculties of observation must be very keen. s/he must be able to judge their mind. Very rarely do the students admit that they don't understand. From their body language and from their eyes the teacher has to judge. A person with too systematic and theoretical an attitude can be an officer but cannot be a teacher.

Who is a teacher?
Who does not teach rather inspire to learn
Create  thirsty among the student.
Set sense in-front the students.

I strongly agree with you Mr.Shibli sir...

I add something more A teacher is someone who sees what can be accomplished, not what cannot be accomplished. Teachers know that to expect their students to become lifelong learners they must be willing to do the same. Thus, they invest themselves ...
They try to know How to know?

Thank you Sir  for being with us always.......

S/he is a good teacher who thinks that learning is an ongoing process and who does not have pride of learning.

And I agree with Shibli sir here. The teacher who can understand student's psychology and feel them and be like them that means who bores humanistic psychology in their heart..........they are really good teachers.

To my mind, the role of a teacher in today’s world is a complex and diverse one.  It is to provide intellectual and social development, to have integrity, to be honest and to always provide appropriate conduct in the classroom and the community.

In addition to these attributes, the role of a teacher is to acquire professionalism and ethics and abide by their own moral code and that of their school, while maintaining a commitment to confidentiality between students, colleagues and the community.
Thanks.

Teachers show students skills. They also explain information. Teachers plan their lessons before they teach, which can take a lot of time.

Teachers try to make their lessons easy to understand. They teach things in different ways so that different students can learn in the way that is easiest for them. Teachers might use a chalkboard, a projector, or a computer. They make posters or worksheets before class starts. Teachers plan the schedule for the day. Most teachers have to teach what the principal tells them.

Good teaching is also about bridging the gap between theory and practice.
