জার্মানির হ্যানোফারের এক তরুণ ফ্যাশন ডিজাইনার বাড়ির ফ্রিজে সংরক্ষিত দুধ থেকেই কাপড় তৈরি করেছেন। দুধের মধ্যে থাকা প্রোটিনসমূহ ঘনীভূত করে তৈরি করা ‘কিউ মিলচ’ নামের এ কাপড়টি কোনো রাসায়নিক ছাড়াই মানুষের হাতে তৈরি বিশ্বের প্রথম কাপড়।  কিউ মিলচের উদ্ভাবক ২৮ বছর বয়সী আঙ্কে ডমাস্ক বলেন, এটা রেশমের মতো নরম ও কোনো গন্ধ নেই। এটা অন্য যে কোনো কাপড়ের মত ধোয়াও যাবে। তিনি বলেন, প্রাকৃতিক উপাদান থেকে তৈরি কিউ মিলচ শুধু পরিবেশবান্ধবই নয়, এর স্বাস্থ্যগত উপকারিতাও রয়েছে। প্রেটিনে থাকা অ্যামিনো এসিড ব্যাকটেরিয়া নিরোধক, বার্ধক্য নিরোধক এবং শরীরের তাপমাত্রা নিয়ন্ত্রণ ও রক্ত সঞ্চালনে সাহায্য করে। ডমাস্কের ফ্যাশন হাউজ ম্যাডমোসেল চিচি (এমসিসি) কিউ মিলচ উত্পাদন শুরু করেছে বলে জানান তিনি।  এমসিসি’র বর্তমান পোশাকগুলো বিভিন্ন ধরনের তন্তুর সমন্বয়ে তৈরি কাপড় দিয়ে বানানো হয়। তবে এর কিছু পোশাক সম্পূর্ণ দুধ থেকে তৈরি কাপড় দিয়ে বানানোর পরিকল্পনা করছেন ডমাস্ক।  দুধ থেকে তৈরি তন্তু নতুন নয়, ১৯৩০’র দশক থেকেই দুধ থেকে তন্তু উত্পাদিত হতো। তবে সেগুলো তৈরি হতো বিভিন্ন রাসায়নিক ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে। কিউ মিলচ সম্পূর্ণ দুধ থেকেই তৈরি হয়।

I also watched it in TV. New idea but I think, drinking milk is better than wearing a dress made from milk ;)

Very interesting. We can conduct B.Sc thesis/project on this topic. We can also include this topic in textile raw material-I.

I think that, the fibre produced from the milk can only be applicable to meet special purposes. Because, it will highly be expensive to use this fibre in every kinds of wears. Besides, containing protein substances newly invented milk fibre is easily bio-degradable and it has not any toxic effect on the environmental system.

Innovative idea but i think not that much effective due to complex procedure & high expenses.
