Title: Training of Teachers for 21st Century

Considering unemployed educated population in the country, Daffodil International University is very keen to develop syllabus and faculty members to move forward with objective to create 21st century competent graduates. A five-day long training for the teachers organized by Department of General Educational Development (GED) of Daffodil international University (DIU) ended on August 14, 2018 at Banquet Hall of the university.

Eighty (80) teachers from the department of GED and English participated in the training session. Honorable Vice Chancellor of DIU, Prof. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD handed over the certificates to the participants at the closing session.

The training session was designed focusing on the need of the teachers to develop themselves as better educator for today and tomorrow through developing their self-esteem, productive skill, research knowledge and use of technology in teaching with diversified cognitive skills. Teachers were disconnected from their mobile phones to connect with each other during the session.

After identifying the need of the teachers the organizers invited their internal resource persons such as Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Dean, FSIT and Pro-VC, DIU, Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa, Dean, FAHS, Professor A. M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Dean, FHSS, Mr. Mohammed Shamsul Hoque, Associate Professor, English, IT Experts Mr. Khondker Mohammad Shah-Al-Mamun and Mr. Umam Mustain and some other faculty members of the university. 

The total duration of the training was 20 hours. The training covered the following training sessions: 1. Fundamentals of teaching, 2. Use of technology in teaching, 3. Self-esteem development and productive skills in teaching and 4. Research and development in teaching.

The training sessions were ended on a successful note and is considered to be an effective program.
