Title: Approaches for eco-friendly practices in Textile Production.
Post by: nashid on October 29, 2011, 01:12:54 PM
Any organized approach to move production towards clean production should have the following steps:

Prevent: To 'prevent' is to give up a process or product in favor of noticeably improving the environmental situation.
Decrease: This can be attained by reducing the pollutant load, exhaustion and fixation of dyes close to 100 per cent and responding to water and energy requirement.
Re-utilise / Re-use: Re-utilisation of the dye bath is a vital deliberation under the pressure of dwindling resources. This has now turned into pragmatism because of addition of new auxiliaries, modern filter technology and spectrophotometers that calculate the substance of the dye in the dye bath accurately.
Recycle: This recycling of natural fibres is achievable, but it has a limitation of application because of natural degradation. Synthetic fibres can be recycled by melting down and regranulating with or without applying fresh granules. This perhaps is most acceptable to 'green' organizations, but is limited due to lack of uses for the material recycled.

there is no doubt that Eco-friendly production practices are most wanted by the any local government, central government and global fight for cleaner production. please not that no products can be produced with out effecting the environment. but the aim of any so called cleaner production is to use resources in the best possible, which belongs to sustainable development (sd)and cleaner/Eco-friendly production is a part of this sd.

Textile is very complicated production chain from fiber production to  finished apparel and this final apparel used by any consumers and their recycling methods/damping.

I am a freelancer to promote sustainable development movement and my field is organic processing methods. i completed several free session in different big/ international textile and clothing industries situated in and around dhaka, and even conducted a session with Master Textile engineering students in DIU.

I am always eager to talk part in this of conversation. any group willing to know cleaner production on textile processing from fiber production to finished products, is  welcome.
