Biotin is found in organs, egg yolk, soy, yeast, whole grains and milk.
What Is Biotin?
Biotin is usually classified as a B vitamin and is necessary for all living organisms, being used at building and maintaining a healthy immune system. Biotin is also very well known for its effect on hair growth.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BIOTIN AND HAIR GROWTH:
The importance of the relationship between biotin and hair growth is evidenced by the fact that it is the first supplement that your doctor will prescribe if you suddenly begin experiencing hair loss. Biotin is found in many types of foods such as eggs and liver, but it takes huge amounts of food to give you the 5 milligrams required for effective hair growth, if you already have a biotin deficiency in your body. If you have a biotin deficiency, consider taking biotin supplements in order to increase the levels of biotin in your body for your hair, skin and nails to grow properly.
Biotin can be taken both orally and topically. There are shampoos that contain biotin and these are recommended for people who have sudden hair loss. The biotin in these shampoos can be absorbed directly through the scalp and some of it is absorbed directly into the hair shaft causing an increase in the growth of new hair and health of the existing hair shafts. There are also biotin supplements that are taken in the form of capsules. Ore such capsule containing 5 milligrams of biotin is sufficient to improve the biotin levels in your body. Such supplements are important due to the relationship between biotin and increased hair growth.
SOURCES OF BIOTIN:
Apart from eggs and liver, there are other foods that can help improve the relationship between biotin and the increase of hair in the body. Such foods include green peas, walnuts, sunflower seeds, brown rice, soybeans and oats. You should note that high protein intake will inhibit the assimilation of biotin in your body, since it binds easily with the proteins making it unavailable for your body to use. People who have Type A blood also do not assimilate biotin in their bodies. If you have type A blood, then you can increase the dosage of your biotin supplements, since there are no side effects associated with overdosing on biotin.
Other health benefit of biotin
1.Biotin deficiency leads to hair loss
2.Biotin strengthens the hair follicles
3.Keeps skin hydrated from inside out. Skin rashes and skin conditions are most of the time caused by dehydration.
4.Biotin stimulates dead skin cells renewal process
5.Help the diabetics maintain a constant level of glucose
6.Can help weight loss, as it increases the metabolism
7.Strengthens nails and bones. If you don’t get enough calcium into your system, biotin is a good supplement.
