Title: THE DEATH OF A REKNOWNED BANGLADESHI SCIENTIST PROF. JAMAL NAZRUL ISLAM

Eminent scientist Prof Jamal Nazrul Islam passed away on Saturday morning at a hospital in Chittagong. He was 74.

The body of the late Prof Jamal will be taken to Shahid Miner at 4:00pm on Saturday afternoon for people to show their last respect to the scholar.

A senior medical officer of the clinic said Prof Jamal was under life support from Wednesday. He breathed his last at around 12:20am on Saturday, he said.

A mathematical physicist and cosmologist, he is a professor at Chittagong University , a member of the advisory board at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology & a member of the syndicate at Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology.

He was the director of the Research Centre for Mathematics and Physical Sciences at Chittagong University.

Born on 24 February 1939 in Jhenaidah district, he studied at Chittagong Collegiate School, going on to Lawrence College in Marit, West Pakistan where he passed the Senior Cambridge and Higher Senior Cambridge exams.

I was fortunate to come close to Prof. J.N. Islam during my study BSc (Hons.) and MS in Mathematics at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. To show some respect to his scientific career present author have collected his scholarly articles.
