Argentina and Switzerland are will face each other in a World Cup 2014 match on Tuesday, July 1.
The round of 16 game will kick-off at 12:00 p.m. EDT at Arena Corinthians, São Paulo.

Argentina Tries to Find New Ways to Score at Cup
BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil (AP) — Having relied on Lionel Messi for most of its goals so far at this World Cup, Argentina is planning to find new ways of scoring in its second-round match against Switzerland on Tuesday.
Messi carried Argentina through the group stage, scoring four of its goals. The other two came from an own goal and left back Marcos Rojo.
With Sergio Aguero missing Tuesday’s match because of a left thigh injury, the Group F winners are looking to Ezequiel Lavezzi to step in — a challenge that assistant coach Claudio Gugnali said the Paris Saint-Germain forward is ready for.
“He’s a very powerful player and is in a great moment,” Gugnali said. “He finished his club season very well. He has been asking to be on the pitch since he came (to Brazil). I don’t have any doubts that he will know how to take advantage of his opportunities.”
Lavezzi usually attacks down the wings, but also drops back to work in partnership with Argentina’s midfielders. The team will have to adapt its tactical formation a bit if Lavezzi starts.
Argentina is also wary of Switzerland’s attack and will have to shore up its shaky defense to deal with threats that include winger Xherdan Shaqiri, who scored a hat trick against Honduras in the final Group E match.
“Switzerland works very well on the flanks and attacks down the wings,” Gugnali said. “It’s going to be a very intense match.”
Switzerland also beat Ecuador in the group stage, but was overrun by France in a 5-2 defeat. For Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, the team’s qualification for the second round meant postponing his possible retirement. The German veteran, a two-time Champions League winner as a coach, has said this tournament will be his last.
Goalkeeper Diego Benaglio knows that beating Argentina will demand complete concentration by his teammates.
“We must remain highly focused, very disciplined, maintain our compactness, act extremely carefully,” Benaglio said. “The defensive work doesn’t begin with the defenders. Our attacker will be the first defender.”
Argentina is not taking anything for granted and won’t expect to roll over Switzerland in Sao Paulo.
“Everybody said we would score loads of goals in the group stage and it’s clear that didn’t happen,” midfielder Maxi Rodriguez said. “Our mentality is always the same: at a World Cup you have to be focused 100 percent of the time. It’s true that big teams are still left on the way, but if you’re not concentrated any team can beat you.”

বর্ণ গন্ধ ও প্রাচুর্যে একমাত্র গোলাপই সব ফুল ছাড়িয়ে তৈরি করেছে ঐশ্বর্যমণ্ডিত একটি জগৎ। গোলাপের প্রশস্তি নিয়ে রচিত হয়েছে মহাকাব্য, রূপকথা, আছে নানান কিংবদন্তিও। অসংখ্য গবেষণা, প্রেম উপাখ্যান রচিত হয়েছে গোলাপের জাদুস্পর্শে। গোলাপের বর্ণবৈভব যেমন অন্তহীন তেমনি অন্তহীন তার স্তুতিবাক্য।

পৃথিবীর পুরনো গোলাপগুলো ছিল জংলি বা বুনো ধরনের। উদ্ভিদবিজ্ঞানীরা বহুমাত্রিক গবেষণা চালিয়ে উন্নত জাতের বিচিত্র গোলাপ আবিষ্কার শুরু করেন। ১৮৬৭ সালে ফ্রান্সে লা ফ্রান্স জাতের নতুন গোলাপ উদ্ভাবনের মধ্যদিয়ে আধুনিক গোলাপের শুভ সূচনা। গোলাপবিদদের প্রচেষ্টায় পারস্যের হলুদ গোলাপের সংকর মিলনে ১৯০০ সালে প্রথম লাল ও কমলার ছোপযুক্ত গোলাপ এবং ১৯১০ সাল নাগাদ একেবারে খাঁটি হলুদ গোলাপের আর্বিভাব। বর্তমানে পৃথিবীতে শত-সহস্র ধরনের গোলাপ ছড়িয়ে আছে। আবি®কৃত হচ্ছে আরও নতুন নতুন জাতের গোলাপ। এর সবগুলোই আবাদিত।


যে গোলাপ নিয়ে পৃথিবী এতো মাতোয়ারা সেই গোলাপের সঙ্গে আমাদেরও রয়েছে নাড়ির সম্পর্ক। একসময় মনে করা হতো, গোলাপের সঙ্গে আমাদের ঐতিহ্যগত কোনো সম্পর্ক নেই। দেশে স্থানীয়ভাবে চাষ করা গোলাপের সবটুকুই ধার করা। তাছাড়া গোলাপের আদিস্থান বলতেও মধ্যএশিয়া বা ইউরোপের দেশগুলোকেই বোঝায়। কিন্তু চমকপ্রদ বিষয় হলো, আমাদের প্রকৃতিতেও আছে এখানকার নিজস্ব একটি বুনো গোলাপ। আর ফুলটির আবাসস্থল খোদ সুনামগঞ্জ জেলার টাঙ্গুয়ার হাওরসহ বৃহত্তর সিলেটের হাওরাঞ্চল! নেত্রকোনা ও কিশোরগঞ্জের বিল-হাওরেও কিছু কিছু থাকতে পারে। মনে করা হয়, এটাই পৃথিবীর একমাত্র জলসহিষ্ণু গোলাপ। জলসহিষ্ণু হওয়ায় বছরের দীর্ঘ সময় পানির নিচেই ডুবে থাকে। পানি সরে গেলে ধীরে ধীরে নতুন পাতা ও ফুলের কুঁড়ি গজাতে শুরু করে। বুনো গোলাপ জন্মে হাওরের অপেক্ষাকৃত উঁচু স্থানে। শুকনো মৌসুমে এসব স্থান বিচিত্র তৃণ-গুল্মে ভরে ওঠে। আশপাশে খুব একটা বসতি না থাকায় সাধারণত নষ্ট বা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হবার সম্ভাবনাও তেমন একটা থাকে না।

মূলত আধুনিক গোলাপের সংখ্যা কয়েক হাজার হলেও তাদের বন্য পূর্বসূরির সংখ্যা নগণ্য। গোলাপের ইতিহাস এক মহাভারত। নির্বাচন ও সযতœ লালনের ফলে নিচের বনগোলাপগুলোর কোনো কোনোটির কিছুটা উন্নত ধরন উনিশ শতকের আগে বাগানে পালিত ও সমাদৃত হতো। পৃথিবীর ১০টি প্রধান আদিজাতের

ফুল নিম্নরূপ :
ক্যাবেজ গোলাপ, দামেস্ক গোলাপ, ফরাসি গোলাপ, চীনা গোলাপ, চা গোলাপ বা টি-রোজ, পারস্যের হলুদ গোলাপ, জাপানি গোলাপ, জাপানি লতানো গোলাপ, প্রেইরি গোলাপ ও কস্তুরি গোলাপ।

আধুনিক গোলাপ মূলত এগুলোর কৃত্রিম সংকরণ থেকেই উৎপন্ন, কখনো কোনো মিউটেশন এ সমাহারে বৈচিত্র্য যুগিয়েছে। আধুনিক গোলাপ দুটি বড় দলে বিভক্ত: ঝোপালো ও লতানো। মোট গোলাপের ৯০ ও ১০ ভাগ যথাক্রমে প্রথম ও দ্বিতীয় বর্গের অন্তর্গত। এবার বনগোলাপ সম্পর্কে কিছু প্রাসঙ্গিক তথ্য।     

বনগোলাপের প্রচলিত আরেকটি নাম সেঁউতি। রবীন্দ্রনাথ লিখেছেন-

‘আমি জানি মনে-মনে,  সেঁউতি যূথী জবা।’

বলিষ্ঠ ঝোপাল গুল্ম। খাড়া বা অর্ধ-আরোহী ধনুকের মতো শাখাপ্রশাখা যুক্ত। চ্যাপ্টা কাঁটা উপপত্রের জোড়ায় থাকে। পাতা ৫ থেকে ১০ সেমি লম্বা, পত্রক ৭ থেকে ৯টি, সামান্য বৃন্তক। পাতা ও ডালপালা রোমশ বা মসৃণও হতে পারে। পত্রক সাধারণত ১ জোড়া বা উপপত্রের নিচে সোজা, চ্যাপ্টা, কণ্টকিত, উপপত্র ছোট, ঝালর সদৃশ।

পুষ্পবৃন্তযুক্ত, মঞ্জরিদণ্ড বলিষ্ঠ, পত্র থেকে অনেক ছোট, পুষ্পবৃন্ত ছোট, মঞ্জরিপত্র দেড় সেমি পর্যন্ত লম্বা হতে পারে। ঘনভাবে ক্ষুদ্র কোমল রোমাবৃত। বৃতিনল গোলাকার। বাইরের দিকটা বাদামি, খণ্ডক দেড় সেন্টিমিটারের মতো, ডিম্বাকার, ভেতরে রোমশ, ক্ষণস্থায়ী। পাপড়ি সংখ্যা ৫, রং সাদা, ১.৭ থেকে ৩ সেমি লম্বা, প্রশস্তভাবে বিডিম্বাকার, শীর্ষ সখাঁজ ও মসৃণ। পুংকেশর অসংখ্য, গর্ভদণ্ড মুক্ত। ফল ১ থেকে ২ সেমি লম্বা, গোলাকার, ঘনভাবে কোমল রোমাবৃত। ফুল ও ফলের মৌসুম ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে জুন।

বাংলাদেশ ছাড়া ভারত ও মায়ানমারেও এ গোলাপ অল্প সংখ্যায় দেখা যায়। বর্তমানে বিপন্ন প্রজাতি হিসেবে তালিকাভুক্ত। বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম  Rosa clinophylla. (Rosa involucrata)।

গোলাপ বহুবর্ষজীবী গুল্ম ও ঝোপজাতীয় গাছ। ছোট ও অনুচ্চ লতার বিভিন্ন ধরনের গাছও দেখা যায়। গাছের কচি ডালের আগায় নিখুঁত পাপড়ির ফুল ফোটে। রঙের বর্ণনা দু’এক বাক্যে বলে শেষ করা অসম্ভব। গোলাপের অসংখ্য জাতের মধ্যে আছে হাইব্রিড-টি, ফ্লোরিবান্ডা, পলিয়েননা, মডার্ন শ্রাবস, মিনিয়েচার, ক্লাইম্বার, র্যামবলার, মাস্ক, মস্ ইত্যাদি। এ জাতগুলোর মধ্যে হাইব্রিড টি ও ফ্লোরিবান্ডা পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় জাত এবং বাংলাদেশের আবহাওয়ায়ও বেশ উপযোগী। দোআঁশ মাটি গোলাপ চাষের জন্য উপযুক্ত।

সাহাবাদের (রা) কাহিনী পড়ে অঝোরে কাঁদতে থাকি... কী ছিল তাদের ভালোবাসা আল্লাহর রাসূল (সা) আর ইসলামের জন্যে! আর কোথায় আমরা? নিজের শরীরটাকে দুঃখে ছিন্নভিন্ন করে ফেলতে ইচ্ছা করে! ইয়া আল্লাহ, আমাদেরকে তাদের মত করে আত্মত্যাগ করার তওফিক দাও, আমীন!

সা'দ আল আসওয়াদ আস-সুলুমী (রা)-এর কথা কি আপনারা জানেন?

নামটাও হয়তো অনেকে শুনে নি কোনদিন। তাঁর সমাজে হাই-স্ট্যাটাস ছিল না, তিনি ছিলেন গরীব, গায়ের রঙ কালো। কেউ তাঁর কাছে নিজের মেয়েও বিয়ে দিতে চাইতো না।

সা'দ (রা) একদিন আল্লাহর রাসূল (সা) এর কাছে দুঃখ করে বলেছিলেন, "ইয়া রাসূলুল্লাহ! আমিও কি জান্নাতে যাবো?"
"আমি তো নীচু মাপের ঈমানদার হিসেবে বিবেচিত হই"
"কেউ আমাকে নিজের মেয়ে দিতে রাজি হয় না"

রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) সাহাবীদের দুঃখ বুঝতেন নিজের আপন ভাইয়ের মত করে, নিজের সন্তানের মত করে। তিনি তাদেরকে অনুভব করতেন অন্তরের অন্তঃস্থল থেকে। তিনি এই সা'দকে পাঠিয়েছিলেন ইবন আল-ওয়াহহাবের কাছে। সাধারণ কোন ব্যক্তি ছিলেন না ইবন ওয়াহহাব। তিনি হলেন মদীনার নেতাদের একজন; কিছুদিন যাবৎ মুসলিম হয়েছেন। তাঁর মেয়ে অপরূপা সুন্দরী রমণী, রূপের জন্য বিখ্যাত। সেই ইবন ওয়াহহাবের মেয়েকে বিয়ে করার জন্য রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) সা'দকে পাঠালেন।

নেতার মেয়ে বিয়ে করবে সা'দের মতো একজনকে? যে তার সৌন্দর্য্যের জন্য এতো প্রসিদ্ধ, সে হবে সা'দের বউ?? স্বাভাবিকভাবেই ইবন ওয়াহহাবের প্রতিক্রিয়া ছিল "আকাশ-কুসুম কল্পনা ছেড়ে বাড়ি যাও"... কিন্তু তাঁর মেয়ে ততক্ষণে শুনে ফেলেছে। সে বলে উঠলো, "বাবা! আল্লাহর রাসূল (সা) অনুরোধ করেছে তাকে বিয়ে করার জন্যে, তুমি কিভাবে উনাকে ফিরিয়ে দিতে পারো?
রাসূলের উৎকণ্ঠা থেকে আমরা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিলে আমাদের অবস্থানটা কি হবে?" এরপর সা'দের দিকে ফিরে বললো, "রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) কে যেয়ে বলে দিন, আমি আপনাকে বিবাহ করার জন্য প্রস্তুত"

সা'দের মন সেদিন আনন্দে পুলকিত... সে যেন খুশিতে টগবগ করে ফুটছে... রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) ৪০০ দিনার মোহরানায় তাদেরকে বিয়ে দিয়ে দিলেন। আলহামদুলিল্লাহ! সুবহান আল্লাহ!

সা'দ বললেন, হে রাসূল, আমি তো জীবনে কোনদিন চারশ দিনার দেখিই নি! আমি এই টাকা কীভাবে শোধ করবো? নবীজি (সা) তাকে বললেন, আলী আল-নু'মান ইবন আউফ আর উসমান (রা) এর কাছ থেকে দুইশ দুইশ করে মোট চারশ দিনার নিয়ে নিতে। দুজনেই উনাকে দুইশর-ও বেশি করে দিনার দিলেন। আলহামদুলিল্লাহ! টাকার জোগাড় ও হয়ে গেলো। এখন নতুন বউ এর কাছে যাবেন সা'দ (রা)...

মার্কেটে যেয়ে সুন্দরী বউ এর জন্যে টুকিটাকি কিছু উপহার কেনার কথা চিন্তা করলেন তিনি। মার্কেটে পৌঁছে গেছেন, হঠাৎ তাঁর কানে আসলো জিহাদের ডাক। "যুদ্ধের জন্য প্রস্তুত হয়ে যাও" ... সা'দ যেখানে ছিলেন সেখানেই দাঁড়িয়ে গেলেন। আকাশের দিকে তাকালেন একবার, বললেন- "হে আল্লাহ! আমি এই টাকা দিয়ে এমনকিছু কিনবো যা তোমাকে খুশি করবে।" নতুন বউ এর জন্য গিফট কেনার বদলে তিনি কিনলেন একটি তরবারি আর একটি ঘোড়া। এরপর ঘোড়া ছুটিয়ে চললেন জিহাদের ময়দানে, নিজের চেহারাটা কাপড় দিয়ে মুড়ে নিলেন, যেন আল্লাহর রাসূল (সা) তাকে দেখে চিনে ফেলতে না পারেন। কারণ রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) তাকে দেখলেই তো বাড়িতে পাঠিয়ে দিবেন! সে যে সদ্য-বিবাহিত! সাহাবারা (রা) বলাবলি করছিলেন, যুদ্ধ করতে আসা এই মুখ-ঢাকা লোকটি কে? আলী (রা) বললেন, "বাদ দাও, সে যুদ্ধ করতে এসেছে।" ক্ষিপ্ততার সাথে সা'দ যুদ্ধ করতে থাকলেন, কিন্তু তাঁর ঘোড়ায় আঘাত হানা হলো, ঘোড়া পড়ে গেলো। সা'দ উঠে দাঁড়ালেন। ঐ সময় নবীজি (সা) তার কালো চামড়া দেখে ফেললেন, "ইয়া সা'দ এ কি তুমি?!" রাসূল (সা) এর প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি (রা) বললেন "আমার মা-বাবা আপনার উপর উৎসর্গিত হোক ইয়া আল্লাহর রাসূল! হ্যাঁ, আমি সা'দ"

মুহাম্মাদ (সা) বললেন, "হে সা'দ, জান্নাত ছাড়া তোমার জন্য আর কোন আবাস নেই।" সা'দ (রা) আবারো জিহাদে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়লেন। কিছু সময় পর কয়েকজন বললো সা'দ আহত হয়েছে। রাসূল (সা) ছুটে গেলেন ময়দানে। সা'দকে খুঁজতে লাগলেন। সা'দের মাথা খানা নিজের কোলের উপর রেখে কাঁদতে শুরু করলেন। তাঁর অশ্রু গড়িয়ে গড়িয়ে সা'দের মুখের উপর এসে পড়ছিলো। তাঁর (সা) চোখ বেয়ে নেমে আসছিলো অঝোর ধারা। একটু পর রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) হাসতে শুরু করলেন, আর তারপর মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিলেন।

আবু লুবাবা (রা) নামের একজন সাহাবা উনাকে দেখে বিস্ময়ে বললেন, "হে রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) আমি আপনাকে এমনটি কখনো করতে দেখি নি"... আল্লাহর রাসূল (সা) বললেন, "আমি কাঁদছিলাম কারণ আমার প্রিয় সঙ্গী আজ চলে গেলো! আমি দেখেছি সে আমার জন্য কী ত্যাগ করলো আর সে আমাকে কতো ভালোবাসতো... কিন্তু এরপর আমি দেখতে পেলাম তার কী ভাগ্য, আল্লাহর কসম, সে ইতিমধ্যে হাউদে পৌঁছে গেছে।" আবু লুবাবা জিজ্ঞেস করলেন "হাউদ কি?" রাসূলুল্লাহ (সা) বললেন, "এটি হলো এমন এক ঝর্ণা যা থেকে কেউ একবার পান করলে জীবনে আর কোনদিন পিপাসার্ত হবে না, এর স্বাদ মধুর চেয়েও মিষ্টি, এর রঙ দুধের চেয়েও সাদা! আর যখন আমি তাঁর এইরূপ মর্যাদা দেখলাম, আল্লাহর কসম, আমি হাসতে শুরু করলাম।"

"তারপর আমি দেখতে পেলাম সা'দের দিকে তাঁর জান্নাতের স্ত্রীগণ এমন উৎফুল্ল ভাবে ছুটে আসছে, যে তাদের পা গুলো বের হয়ে পড়ছে, তাই আমি চোখ ফিরিয়ে নিলাম।"

নবীজি অতঃপর সাহাবাদের কাছে এসে বললেন সা'দের ঘোড়া আর তরবারি নিয়ে আসতে, সেগুলো যেন সা'দের স্ত্রীর কাছে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়, তাকে যেন বলা হয় এগুলো তার বংশধর। তিনি (সা) বললেন, তাকে জানিয়ে দিও আল্লাহ তা'আলা সা'দকে জান্নাতে স্ত্রী দান করেছেন, তারা তার চাইতেও অনেক সুন্দর। এই হলো সা'দ, যিনি কিছুক্ষণ আগেও অনিশ্চিত ছিলেন যে সে জান্নাতে যেতে পারবে কী না। সমাজে তার কোন মর্যাদা ছিল না, কোন স্ট্যাটাস ছিল না, কিন্তু আল্লাহর চোখে এই হলো তাঁর স্ট্যাটাস। কারণ তাঁর জীবন এবং মরণ ছিলো শুধুমাত্র আল্লাহরই জন্যে...।

''নিঃসন্দেহ আমার নামায ও আমার কুরবানি, আর আমার জীবন ও আমার মরণ - আল্লাহ্‌র জন্য যিনি সমস্ত বিশ্বজগতের প্রতিপালক" [সূরাহ আন'আমঃ আয়াত ১৬২]

"নিঃসন্দেহ আল্লাহ্ মুমিনদের কাছ থেকে কিনে নিয়েছেন তাদের জান ও মাল এই মূল্যে যে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে জান্নাত। তারা যুদ্ধ করে আল্লাহর রাহেঃ অতঃপর মারে ও মরে। তাওরাত, ইঞ্জিল ও কোরআনে তিনি এ সত্য প্রতিশ্রুতিতে অবিচল। আর আল্লাহর চেয়ে প্রতিশ্রুতি রক্ষায় কে অধিক সত্যনিষ্ঠ? সুতরাং তোমরা আনন্দিত হও সে লেনদেনের উপর, যা তোমরা করেছ তাঁর সাথে। আর এটিই হচ্ছে মহা সাফল্য। [সূরাহ আত-তাওবাঃ আয়াত ১১১]

সা'দের জীবনকাহিনী শুনে এ দু'টি আয়াতই মনে পড়ে যায়... আল্লাহ তা'আলা আমাদেরকে কবুল করে নাও! আমীন...।

 সংস্থাপন মন্ত্রণালয়ের এক আদেশে নোয়াখালীতে কর্মরত কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তরের যুগ্ম মহাপরিচালককে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে নিয়োগ দেওয়া হবে।
 কৃষি মন্ত্রণালয়, সড়ক ও রেলপথ বিভাগ এবং ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের একজন করে প্রতিনিধি জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের মূল নির্বাচক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করবেন। তবে যেকোনো ম্যাচে দলের ব্যাটিং অর্ডার ঠিক করবেন সংস্থাপন মন্ত্রণালয়ের একজন সহকারী সচিব।
 পর্যায়ক্রমে দলের কোচ হবেন বন ও পরিবেশ মন্ত্রণালয়ের অধীন বন সংরক্ষক পদমর্যাদার একজন কর্মকর্তা। এ ছাড়া সরকারের চাহিদামোতাবেক যেকোনো সরকারি কর্মকর্তা (স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগ ছাড়া) ওই পদে কাজ করতে বাধ্য থাকবেন।
 ক্রিকেট বোর্ড শ্রমিক-কর্মচারী ইউনিয়নের (সিবিএ) সভাপতি হবেন সাকিব আল হাসান এবং সাধারণ সম্পাদক মোহাম্মদ আশরাফুল।
বেতন-ভাতা
প্রচলিত সরকারি কর্মচারী মজুরি কাঠামো অনুযায়ী ক্রিকেটারদের বেতন-ভাতা দেওয়া হবে। তবে দেশের বাইরে অনুষ্ঠিত ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ চলাকালে ক্রিকেটাররা হাতখরচ বাবদ দৈনিক এক হাজার ১২৫ টাকা হারে ভাতা পাবেন। আর আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যাচ জিতলে সংশ্লিষ্ট ক্রিকেটাররা ৬৮০ টাকা হারে সরকার-নির্ধারিত অতিরিক্ত উৎসাহ ভাতা পাবেন।
কোটা সংরক্ষণ
বিশ্বব্যাংক ও নারীবাদী সংগঠনগুলোর অব্যাহত চাপে জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের ৩০ ভাগ জায়গা মহিলাদের জন্য সংরক্ষিত থাকবে। এ ছাড়া মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তানদের জন্য ৫ শতাংশ এবং উপজাতীয় কোটায় একটি আসন সংরক্ষণ করা হবে।
গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কিছু সরকারি আইন
 সাপ্তাহিক ও সরকারি ছুটির দিনগুলোতে কোনো ধরনের জাতীয় বা আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যাচ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে না।
 যেকোনো ম্যাচের বিরতি চলাকালে মন্ত্রী ও সরকারদলীয় নেতারা সংক্ষিপ্ত বক্তৃতা করবেন। এ সময় সব ক্রিকেটারকে বাধ্যতামূলকভাবে ড্রেসিংরুমে উপস্থিত থেকে বক্তব্য শ্রবণ করতে হবে।
 ম্যাচ চলাকালে কোনো বোলার কিংবা ব্যাটসম্যান ইনজুরিতে পড়লে ১০ জন নিয়েই খেলতে হবে। সংশ্লিষ্ট মন্ত্রণালয়ের আদেশ ব্যতিরেকে তার বদলি হিসেবে অন্য কাউকে দলে নেওয়া যাবে না। ইনজুরি আক্রান্ত ক্রিকেটারকে অবশ্যই দুজন গেজেটেড অফিসারের প্রত্যয়ন ও ১৫০ টাকার স্ট্যাম্পসহ সরকারি নির্দিষ্ট ফরমে আবেদন করতে হবে। ৭২ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে একজন সরকারি চিকিৎসক ও নিকটস্থ থানার একজন উপপরিদর্শকের পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষার পরই একজন ক্রিকেটার ইনজুরি আক্রান্ত বলে গণ্য হবেন।
 ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ চলাকালে যেকোনো ধরনের লাফালাফি, হাত-পা ছোড়াছুড়ি, হাস্যরস ১৯৭৭ সালের সরকারি কর্মচারী আচরণবিধির পরিপন্থী বলে গণ্য হবে। শুধু বোলিংয়ের সময় সরকারি বিধিমোতাবেক একটি বিশেষ উচ্চতা পর্যন্ত লাফানো যাবে।
 ক্রিকেট ম্যাচে আম্পায়ারের প্রতিটি সিদ্ধান্ত সংশ্লিষ্ট জেলা প্রশাসনের একজন উপহিসাবরক্ষক পরীক্ষা করে দেখবেন। তবে কোনো সিদ্ধান্ত থার্ড আম্পায়ার পর্যন্ত গেলে আইন ও বিচার-সম্পর্কিত সংসদীয় স্থায়ী কমিটি তা পুনরায় পর্যালোচনা করবে।
উল্লেখযোগ্য কিছু পরিবর্তন
 কৃচ্ছ্রসাধনের লক্ষ্যে প্রচলিত ক্রিকেট বলের পরিবর্তে ক্ষুদ্র ও কুটির শিল্প সংস্থা কর্তৃক উদ্ভাবিত বিশেষ পাটজাত বল ব্যবহার করা হবে।
 কোনো মাসে সরকার যদি ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ আয়োজনে অপারগ হয়, তাহলে শুধু ওই মাসের জন্য নির্ধারিত ক্রিকেট ম্যাচগুলো উন্মুক্ত দরপত্রের মাধ্যমে ইজারা দেওয়া হবে। ইজারাগ্রহীতা দর্শকদের কাছ থেকে টোল আদায়ের মাধ্যমে রাজস্ব সংগ্রহ করবে।
 ক্রিকেট মাঠে চিয়ারলিডার সরবরাহ এবং বিরতির সময় সংগীত পরিবেশনের দায়িত্ব পাবে যৌথভাবে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমী ও রবীন্দ্রসংগীতশিল্পী ঐক্য লিগ বা দল।
 শুধু উল্লেখযোগ্য ক্রিকেট রেকর্ডগুলোই পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরোতে সংরক্ষণ করা হবে অনধিক পাঁচ বছরের জন্য।
অবসর ও পেনশন
নিয়ম অনুযায়ী প্রত্যেক ক্রিকেটারই ৬০ বছর বয়স পর্যন্ত জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ খেলতে পারবেন। তবে সরকার চাইলে অবসরভোগীদের চুক্তিভিত্তিক নিয়োগ দিয়ে ম্যাচ খেলাতে পারবে। অবসরের পর বিধিমোতাবেক পেনশন-সুবিধা প্রাপ্য হবেন সবাই।
টিকিট প্রাপ্তিস্থান
ক্রিকেট ম্যাচের টিকিট পাওয়া যাবে শুধু বাংলাদেশের ডাক বিভাগের সব শাখা ও জীবন বীমা করপোরেশনের প্রধান কার্যালয়ে, সকাল সাড়ে ১০টা থেকে বেলা পৌনে একটার মধ্যে। ওয়েবসাইট, মোবাইল কিংবা সরকারি অনুমোদনহীন কোনো প্রতিষ্ঠান টিকিট বিক্রির সঙ্গে জড়িত থাকলে তা হবে শাস্তিযোগ্য অপরাধ।
টেলিভিশন সম্প্রচার
প্রতিটি ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ বাধ্যতামূলকভাবে শুধু বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনেই প্রদর্শিত হবে, অফপিক আওয়ারে। যদি কোনো ম্যাচ সরাসরি দেখানো হয়ে থাকে, তাহলে বিটিভির সংবাদ এবং নিয়মিত অনুষ্ঠানমালার ফাঁকে ফাঁকেই ওই ম্যাচ প্রদর্শিত হবে যথাসম্ভব।
ঘরের রাজনীতি, বাইরের চাপ
 সরকারদলীয় ছাত্রসংগঠনের দাবির মুখে ৫০ ওভারের ম্যাচ তাদের চাহিদামতো ৩০ ওভার বা তারও কম ওভারে হতে পারবে।
 বিলাসদ্রব্য ক্রয় খাতে ঋণ দেওয়ার আগে ক্রিকেট বোর্ডকে ব্যক্তিমালিকানায় হস্তান্তরের জন্য সরকারের ওপর জোর চাপ প্রয়োগ করবে আইএমএফ ও বিশ্বব্যাংক।

ক্রিকেটের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহূত কিছু কথা ও শব্দ শুনলেই আমরা নেগেটিভ ধারণা পোষণ করে বসে থাকি। অথচ চাইলেই আমরা আমাদের ধারণাকে পজিটিভ বানাতে পারি। সেটা কীভাবে, তাই জানাচ্ছেন ইকবাল খন্দকার, আঁকা: শিখাহার দিয়ে শুরু অমুক দলের
হার মানেই পরাজয় নয়। হতে পারে গলার হারও। কাউকে হার উপহার দিয়ে কোনো দল খেলা শুরু করতেই পারে। এটা নিতান্তই আন্তরিকতা।
সাজঘরে ফিরলেন অমুক খেলোয়াড়
সাজঘরে ফেরা মানেই আউট হয়ে যাওয়া নয়। হতে পারে সেটা মেকআপ রুমে ফেরা। একজন খেলোয়াড় এখানে বসে হালকা রূপচর্চা করতেই পারেন।
একটার পর একটা উইকেট পড়ছে
উইকেট মানেই যেহেতু খেলোয়াড়, অতএব ‘উইকেট পড়ছে’ কথাটা শুনলে হতাশ হওয়ার কিছু নেই। উইকেট পড়ছে বলতে খেলোয়াড়েরা বসে বসে বই বা পত্রিকা পড়ছেন, এটাও বোঝানো হতে পারে।
অমুক দল এখন চাপের মুখে
দল চাপের মুখে শুনলে মন খারাপ হতেই পারে। কিন্তু এই চাপ যদি হয় গরুর মাংসের চাপ, তাহলে অর্থটা কী দাঁড়ায়, ভাবুন। চাপের মুখে কোনো দল থাকা মানে মাংসের চাপের সামনে খেলোয়াড়েরা আছেন। তাঁরা এখন মাংসের চাপ খাবেন।
ব্যাটে-বলে হলো না, তাই বল সীমানার বাইরে গেল না
বল সীমানার বাইরে যায়নি বলে হতাশ হওয়ার কারণ নেই। বল যদি এই সীমানা অর্থাৎ বাংলাদেশের সীমানার বাইরে চলে যেত, তাহলে কি বলটা আনা যেত? বিএসএফ গুলি করে বসত না?
ম্যাচ জেতার সম্ভাবনা নেই বললেই চলে
একটা ম্যাচের আর কতই বা দাম। এক টাকা, বড়জোর দুই টাকা। অতএব, ম্যাচ জেতার সম্ভাবনা না থাকলেও কষ্ট পাওয়ার কিছু নেই।
তিন তিনটি উইকেটের পতন
উইকেট ভেঙে দেওয়া মানে কিন্তু স্টাম্প ভেঙে দেওয়া। তার মানে, স্টাম্পকে উইকেট বলা হয়। তো উইকেটের পতন শুনলেই খেলোয়াড় আউট হয়ে গেছে, এটা ভাবার কোনো কারণ নেই। উইকেট তো এমনিতেও মাটিতে পড়ে থাকতে পারে।
রান আউট
প্লেট থেকে রান আউট হতেই পারে। মানে, রান সরিয়ে নেওয়া হতেই পারে। কারণ, সব সময় মাছ-মাংস খেলে শরীর সুস্থ থাকে না। শাক-সবজি খেতে হয়।

Football / Latin America revels in its World Cup moment

Copacabana beach is in the midst of a Latin American invasion, not seen by Brazil even during its last major regional wars in the 19th century.
Some come sporting green sombreros from Mexico, the yellow shirts of Colombia or the masks of Uruguay's president, José Mujica, and Argentinian Pope Francis. Others sing the chants of the rescued Chilean miners or football songs in Spanish or Portuguese. They drink cachaça, tequila, aguardente, or just plain beer. But all have two things in common – Latin American identity and the sweet taste of World Cup success.
With the knockout stage of the tournament due to start on Saturday, the winner so far is increasingly clear from the fans who are left in Rio de Janeiro: Latin America, which is enjoying a tournament like no other, with its teams more successful and its supporters more prominent than ever before.
"This is our World Cup," said Salvador Barrios, an engineer from Toluca in Mexico, as he reflected happily on the group stage that ended on Thursday. "Many players from this region play in Europe, but this tournament is in Latin America. It's ours."
The numbers back him up. More teams from the Americas – 10 (including the non-Latin USA) – are participating in this World Cup than any previous tournament and a record eight have progressed beyond the group stages.
As well as Argentina and Brazil, the most impressive performances have come from smaller nations who have progressed at the expense of the former football powers of Europe. England and Italy fell to Costa Rica and Uruguay, while Spain were squeezed out by Chile.For those with a sense of history, this is a sign of the New World outdoing the Old. More than one microblogger has suggested the teams of Spain and Portugal should return to Europe on caravela – the sailing ships on which the colonists first arrived on South American shores 500 years ago. The sense of triumphalism was shared by Diego Maradona, who suggested the early domination of Latin American teams could signal a longer term shift in the balance of football power.
"Latin Americans have been very strong. English football is gone. So are the Spanish and Italians despite having the best leagues in the world," the Argentinian World Cup winner opined on his World Cup show on the Telesur channel. "We [in Latin America] are firmly on our way to winning the trophy."
Such prognostications for what will happen on the pitch are still premature, but a change is clearly under way in the stadiums and on the streets.
In terms of registered sales of tickets to fans, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico and Chile are in the top 10, which was almost entirely dominated by European nations in previous World Cups. The US was top with more than 125,000 tickets – though precedent suggests many of these will have been bought by Hispanics supporting other teams in the region.
According to Facebook data on the World Cup, the top five best represented nations in Brazil are all from the Americas – the US, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina. Demographic and economic changes help to explain this shift. In 2011, the number of people in Latin America's middle class overtook the poor for the first time – a rise in affluence which, although patchy, means more people can afford the air fares, hotels and tickets needed to attend a World Cup.
Compared with the past, the region also has better infrastructure for networking, both by transport routes and telecom cables. Distances in this continent are huge, but more manageable because roads and air networks have been extended. Some fans have driven thousands of miles in buses, vans and cars to camp on the beaches.
Roberto Alzir, a Rio de Janeiro official in charge of policing the World Cup, said the influx of Latin American supporters had exceed forecasts. There have been occasional clashes, including a confrontation in Belo Horizonte between Brazilian and Argentinian fans, but most of the arrests to date have more to do with desperate fans trying to break into stadiums because there are too many buyers and not enough tickets. For the most part, the mood is more one of regional solidarity than conflict.
The army of Argentinian fans who crossed the border for their team's recent game against Nigeria in Porto Alegre is estimated by the Brazilian authorities to have been between 80,000 and 120,000. Fewer than a quarter of them had tickets for the game. The rest appeared content to watch the match on the giant screens at the Fifa Fan Fest, to simply wear their colours in a Brazilian bar, or to head further north and soak up the festival spirit in Rio.
When Argentina played in this resort city, Copacabana beach was thick with crowds in blue and white, singing mostly good-natured abuse in Spanish about the superiority of Maradona and Messi over Pelé and Neymar. Two days later, it was the red-shirted Chileans' turn to dominate the city, congregating on the steps in Lapa created by their artistic compatriot Selarõn and shouting the chant heard frequently during the 2010 miners rescue: "Chi, Chi, Chi, Le, Le, Le – Viva Chile!"
With Brazilian fans in the stadiums also generally supporting their regional neighbours, this has meant that Latin American teams have enjoyed a home atmosphere in almost every game.
"I'm loving that our countries are doing so well," said Felippe Trindade, a Brazilian fan from Rio. "It's great and it was predictable because of the mood and the fans."
Regional support, though, is far from guaranteed. Latin America is too complex for that. Many supporters like European nations because of family ties, or African and Asian nations because they are underdogs. Others qualify their support for neighbouring nations with the caveat "except for Argentina", which is widely perceived as being aloof, self-important and overly "European".
Juan Santia, an engineering student from Cordoba in Argentina, said the home advantage for Latin American nations was the key rather than a sense of regional unity, which was almost accidental.
"That's just the way we are. We're more friendly than Europeans," he said.
Mutual support will be tested in the knockout stage, where several Latin American teams are matched against one another, starting with Brazil versus Chile on Saturday. Such has been the run of results, however, that even at this early stage at least one Latin American team is guaranteed to be in the semi final – quite an achievement considering Europe accounted for seven of the past eight semi-finalists.
If this success can be maintained, regional football authorities will lobby Fifa to maintain or even increase the number of spots for the Americas in future World Cups.
This time, history is on Latin America's side. Although Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece and France are still in the competition, no European side has ever won the World Cup in the Americas.

A subscriber can register for Bima Life Insurance in one of the 2 ways:

Bima Islamic Life Insurance covers the registered subscriber. Bima Islamic Life Insurance will pay out the insurance benefit in the event of death from all causes, accidental and natural (subject to the exclusions outlined in the policy contract electronically signed during registration), to a nominee of the subscriber’s choice who is a direct relative.

The subscriber does not need to pay any fees to register for Bima Islamic Life Insurance. However, to be actively covered by Bima Islamic Life Insurance each month, the subscriber needs to first use at least BDT250 (excluding VAT) of airtime in one calendar month to start earning insurance cover and must maintain an airtime usage of at least 150 (excluding VAT) each calendar month in order to maintain the insurance cover balance earned in previous months.
A registered subscriber earns and accumulates insurance cover by using airtime. Since the insurance cover provided is cumulative, the total amount of insurance cover provided depends on how much the subscriber has accumulated so far. In Month 2, if the subscriber uses BDT350 of airtime, the subscriber earns BDT6,000 worth of insurance cover in Month 3; the subscriber’s total insurance cover in Month 3 will be BDT10,000. In Month 3, if the subscriber uses only BDT150 of airtime, the subscriber will not earn any incremental insurance cover in Month 4, so the subscriber’s total insurance cover in Month 4 will remain at BDT10,000. As the maximum amount of insurance cover that can be accumulated is BDT50,000, the subscriber’s total insurance cover will remain at BDT50,000 after he/she has earned to that level, as long as the previous month’s airtime usage remains at least BDT150.


At the start of each month, each registered subscriber will receive a SMS informing him/her of how much incremental insurance has been earned based on the previous month’s airtime usage. The Netherlands are set to face Mexico in Fortaleza hoping to extend their winning streak, but the Mexicans have shown enough at this tournament that it might not be straight forward for the Europeans.
The Oranje are not short of confidence as they annihilated title holders Spain with a score of 5-1 and also picked up wins against Australia and Chile. Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal is fortunate enough to have the team’s all-time top scorer Robin van Persie back after suspension, but will probably be missing the services of Feyenord defender Bruno Martins Indi who is still recovering from a mild concussion suffered against the Aussies.
Mexico managed to beat Cameroon after having two goals disallowed, picked up a draw against hosts Brazil and destroyed Croatia in the closing group match so come into this game with belief.
El Tri manager Miguel Herrera will not have midfielder Jose Juan Vasquez at his disposal due to suspension and so former Fulham player Carlos Salcido is expected to take his place.
Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is almost certainly starting from the bench again as Oribe Peralta and former Tottenham Hotspur man Giovani dos Santos have created a very strong duo up front.

International Cricket Council (ICC) is a result of the new president; Mustafa Kemal Pasha welcomed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Associate members of the ICC as a former president and the Planning minister, the first Bangladeshi to have taken over as the 11th president.

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of 11 players each on a field at the centre of which is a rectangular 22-yard long pitch. Each team takes its turn to bat, attempting to score runs, while the other team fields. Each turn is known as aninnings.
The bowler delivers the ball to the batsman who attempts to hit the ball with his bat away from the fielders so he can run to the other end of the pitch (which is counted as one run) without getting run out (the event in which the fielder throws the ball directly ontowickets or to a player who is near to wickets so he can dislodge them from the ground before the batsman or the non-striker has reached the crease). Each batsman (the other is called non-striker) continues batting until he is out. The batting team continues batting until ten batsmen are out or specified number of overs (defined as 6 countable balls bowled) have been bowled, at which point the teams switch roles and the fielding team comes in to bat.
In professional cricket the length of a game ranges from 20 overs of six bowling deliveries per side to Test cricket played over five days. The Laws of Cricket are maintained by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) with additional Standard Playing Conditions for Test matches and One Day Internationals.[1]
Cricket was first played in southern England in the 16th century. By the end of the 18th century, it had developed to be the national sport of England. The expansion of the British Empire led to cricket being played overseas and by the mid-19th century the first international match was held. ICC, the game's governing body, has 10 full members.[2] The game is most popular in Australasia,England, the Indian subcontinent, the West Indies and Southern Africa.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup is the 20th FIFA World Cup, a tournament for the men's football world championship, that is currently taking place in Brazil.

It began on 12 June, with a group stage, and is scheduled to conclude on 13 July with the final.It is the second time that Brazil has hosted the competition, the first being in 1950. Brazil was elected unchallenged as host nation in 2007 after the international football federation, FIFA, decreed that the tournament would be staged in South America for the first time since 1978 in Argentina, and the fifth time overall.

The national teams of 31 countries advanced through qualification competitions that began in June 2011 to participate with the host nation Brazil in the final tournament. A total of 64 matches are being played in 12 cities across Brazil in either new or redeveloped stadiums. For the first time at a World Cup finals, match officials are using goal-line technology, as well as vanishing foam for free kicks.

With the host country, all world champion teams since the first World Cup in 1930: Argentina, England, France, Germany (who won three times as West Germany), Italy, Spain and Uruguay, have qualified for this competition. Spain is the defending champion, having defeated the Netherlands 1–0 in the 2010 final to win its first World Cup. All previous four World Cup tournaments staged in South America were won by South American teams.

বাংলাদেশের নাগরিক হয়ে, এদেশের আলো-বাতাস গায়ে মেখে কোন যুক্তিতে আমরা ভিনদেশী পতাকা বাড়ির ছাদে, দোকানে, অফিসের দেয়ালে এমনকি গাড়িতে টাঙাই...!!! এই কি তবে আমাদের দেশপ্রেম...!!! হায়...!!! ফুটবল ভালোবাসেন ভালো কথা তাই বলে আইন লঙ্ঘন...!!! তারচেয়েও বড় বিষয় আমাদের চেতনার অধ:পতন...!!! আপনি প্রিয় দলের পরিচয় বহনকারী অন্যসব কিছু গ্রহণ করেন কোনো অসুবিধা নাই কিন্তু পতাকা নয়। আমার দেশের মানুষের পতাকা একটাই, যার রং কেবল 'লাল-সবুজ'!
