Mr. Callendar

Mr. Callendar is a minor character of the novel “A passage to India”  In the beginning of the novel, forester is introduced us about this character. He is working as a civil surgeon at the minto Hospital of the city Chandrapore. He is an exceptionally intolerant and bad-tempered man. Through out the novel, he takes advantages in several times from his poor assistant Dr. Aziz. As a superior, he calls Aziz in any time (day or night) then leaves to the club from the bang low without keeping any massage/note. Callendar totally treats him as cruelas possible. He feels proud and suspicious for his professional talents and social position. As a Englishman, he has not shown positive reaction against Indians and against English like fielding, who side with the Indians. Finally, I can say from my point of view that major Callendar is not a well-behaved or good hearted person and most of time he has shown Anglo-English attitudes towards Indian natives.
